First off, I apologize for the way I reacted after the Lakers clearly lost ATS for many gamblers...

I got so excited by the fact that I got LUCKY to WIN because I bought the line down to 6 1/2...

I am genuinely sorry for people who weren't able to find a 7 on this game, and even more regretful that I came across in an arrogant and uncaring manner...

Anyone who has ever met me knows I am sensitive, kind and generous...

Finally, I'd like to personally express my humble apology to OF, because it appears to me that he left this forum after reading a few of my posts from the other night...

Please don't let one BAD night by yours truly, cloud your judgement upon returning because the posters here miss you very much, including me...

You have been an asset to this place and I am asking that you consider coming home...

Thanks,

THE SHRINK

We've all done it....

Whether its at a poker game, when we hit the inside straight, or at the track, when we catch the longshot on top of the tri, or simply watching the game, and we get the miracle catch in the 4th quarter to win it, and we go nuts..

Bragging, like we "actually" had something to do with it.....We all get over-excited at times, I think thats why we like to gamble so much, the adrenaline.......We've all said things we regret.....

I for one, have no doubt that u bought it down, u can afford to.....And i dont think you tried to lead anyone into a loss, thats not your style....people beg for the "shrink" picks, and had they shopped, at worst, they wouldnt have lost.....

That being said, it takes a big man to admit when he went overboard, bragging, and i too hope Omnivorous Frog returns, that Pacers victory last night just wasnt quite as sweet without him here...

Ribbit ribbit!

I think Shrink botched this -6.5/7 thing. Isn't that Rule #1 of posting picks? When you post a pick, don't you ALWAYS post the spread/line? During NFL season, imagine if somebody didn't post their lines on the 2.5/3/3.5 and 6.5/7/7.5 games. "Wow, that game was a nail-biter! Can't believe the Lions scored a TD with 7 seconds left. Vikings 27, Lions 24. By the way, did I mention I had Vikings -2.5?"

However, I don't think OF (or anybody) should leave because of this issue.

And I certainly don't think you should be upset @ Shrink if you lost on the Lakers. Nobody can force you to bet on a game. In fact, many people like to bet OPPOSITE of Shrink's picks!

Personally, I was very happy that the game landed on the number and that you won. Although -6.5s weren't out there, -7s were pretty widely available; those who lost playing Lakers -7.5 have to take some personal responsibility for their betting competence.

When one wins by playing a strong betting game (like you did) I think it is great that you document how you did it, and feel good about it. I personally was thrilled you got it done.

My only complaint was in how you presented your pick as a "lock" and a "sure thing". As they say in Spiderman, 'with great power comes great responsibility'. People without your bankroll and your knowledge are reading your posts and reacting.

You likely bet 1-3% of your bankroll on the game gettting Lakers -6.5. It would not suprise me if someone out there bet 20% of his on Lakers -7.5 based on your post.

Guarantees and locks are interesting, and they get subscribers. But we all know that their is no such thing, just very strong plays that on occasion have a 60-65% ATS chance to win.

What did you pay for the 1/2 pt from a push to a win 7 to 61/2 this time it was worth everthing when would you be taking the best normally 10cents on that 1/2pt can not be worth it

EW,Have heard that 7 is actually a key # in the NBA.So may in fact be worth it.Although, laying the extra -10,you will never have the best of it.

ellen,

With all due respect, I believe that buying ONTO the 2 in the NBA is worth every bit of 10 cents...

Buying on or off of the 7 is not usually done by most wise guys I speak with but the one who once told me it wasn't "that bad" of an idea is the main guy behind Pinnacle...

I respect him a lot and since that chat, on occasion, I will buy onto or off of the 7, though RARELY...

The other night was just a hunch...

Believe it or not, a WISE GUYS educated hunch on a game could actually be worth 1-2 cents in a game such as this and may warrent buying a half point in some rare instances!!

I thoroughly hope everyone COMPLETELY understands what I just said and it not taken out of context as is sometimes common in a forum setting.
