Dale Jr finished 5th and 15th in practice and qualified 15th, Joey 9th and 23rd, qualifying 5th. Dale is racing in probably his best season ever, and I think tonight, after finishing 24th here in March, his worst finish in 13 years at Bristol, there will be a little extra motivation to perform well. Logano has not fared well at Bristol in the past. In the 11 times he has raced there, he has qualified in the Top 10, 9 times. He has only finished in the Top 10 twice, and he ranks 31st in active drivers at Bristol. Dale Jr is ranked 4th Best in Active Drivers at Bristol. I studied basically 3 match-ups all with Logano.....Dale Jr, Jimmie Johnson, and Denny Hamlin. All 3 look favorable to me, JJ is -140, Denny was +150 versus Logano. I guess you could say I picked the one in the middle, but the reality of this play is Dale can race here better than any of the other 3, in 29 starts he has 1 win, 7 Top 5's, 14 top 10's, and 25 Top 20's with an Average Start of 21st. That is pretty impressive and tells you he can drive this course, compared to Logano's 9 Top 10 Starts that he hasn't done much with.....JJ and Hamlin are Active 16th and 17th Best Drivers at Bristol, so I really didn't pick the middle, I picked the Best.
