Big Papi will slam that kids second pitch about 580 feet and he will start crying on the mound and will never be the same again.

not that Im biased. :howdy:

You mean Ortiz can hit home runs again? How did he learn? Damn, I didn't hear that in headline news, that should merit it's own thread if the rumor is true.

It's been hard to watch Matsui with more HR's and RBI's.

Not.

Sox lineup is still weak. Give the M's the Sox in the first round of the playoffs.

Gabbard will never be more than a 4th or 5th starter. A serviceable lefty, that's it.
Murphy has done nothing to show he's anything more than a 4th outfielder ever.
It's early to tell on Beltre, but if he pans out the Sox will regret giving him up instead of others. He is the key to the deal.

Gagne is decent bullpen help. A shadow of his past and an injury waiting to happen. Maybe he can bring Big Papi some of his steroids at least.

Joba Chamberlain is a stud. He's gone all the way up the organization chart in about six month. Look at his numbers, it's scary.

While Gabbart really helped hold the fort, we have another Lefty named Lester. With Bucholtz, Masterson, and Bowden, they have lots of pitching talent.

Murphy has been passed by Ellsbury and they also have another lefty Moss. Very moveable.

As for Beltre, he's 17 and a long way from the major.

Donnelly done and Timlin hurting, this is a really smart move.

No.

Lugo, Pedroia, Lowell, Youkilies, Crisp, Drew, Veritek, Schilling, Wakefield = playoff losers

You might be right

Why not cum face? You think they shouldn't tinker with the best bullpen in baseball already?? you think Gabbard has a future as a sox? It's good to have another reliable arm.
