Red Sox- Giants Battle for first Time in 92 Years

The Red Sox visit the Giants in San Francisco tonight - the clubs last met in the 1912 World Series won by Boston 4 games to 3. The series is causing quite a stir in the Bay Area with scalpers getting more than $1000 for tickets outside Pac Bell (I know old name).

The Red Sox won four in the 1910's - 1912, 1915, 1916, and 1918 with Babe Ruth playing in the last three as a pitcher.

True Pete, I just noticed the South Shore reference. Those WS wins are from another time that seem to be shadowed by the dim mist of history. Speaking of the South Shore I used to spend some time at Nantasket beach in Hull, and have some friends in Plymouth, and the Cape.
