Ortiz suspended for 5 games for going ballistic in Seattle recently. Carlos Zambrano also suspended 5 games (no big deal for a starter) and LaTroy Hawkins got a 3 game sit down, both play for Cubs. ESPN News.

call me biased, but i say 5 games is wayyyyy too much...jerry remy said he was surprised it was ONLY 5...what are these people talking about?!

I have seen the incident on tape, normally it would be no different than any other bats on the field incident, but a bat nearly clipped umpires Bill Hohn and Mark Carlson. Had the bats simply fell in front of the dugout the suspension may have been shorter. The league is making a statement to protect umpires from excessive abuse.
