Loaiza is damaged goods and everyone knows that. However, having Kevin Brown hanging around doesn't exactly inspire confidence in having a healthy 5-man rotation. Contreras has looked solid so far for the Sox. I think this trade may have been a bad one in retrospect is what they are saying. Everyone thought it was lopsided in favor of the Yanks, I said the opposite. Contreras just needed a change of scenery.

And I still think the A's are the team to look out for. One of these years they will put it together in the postseason. That Mulder-Hudson-Zito combo stacks up with anyone. Harden will likely be coming out of the pen come October.

Can't figure out why Yankees trades Contreras for Louiza. Seemed to me that Contreras was on the upswing with his family getting to the States and that Louiza was on the downswing. Contreras has a much better future if you ask me.

What would the odds be in a Sox/Yanks ALCS?? I think with Schilling and Pedro versus the Yankees shaky pitching, Boston might be favored. Admittedly, Boston has a long way to go to get there, but if they make the playoffs there is no denying they match up well.

All homerisim aside, the Sox are now at 15 games over 500 and in a heated race for the wild card playoff spot. Some injured players are getting close to returning (Bellhorn, Lescanic, Williamson, Reese) the race should only make them stronger if they win it. Should be an interesting 6 weeks.

The Wildcard will be just that...and obviously 'if' they get in we all saw how close they came last year...the defense has been corrected, Pedro and Shilling back strong...its going to be real close...

I like Oakland to steal the American League this year...

Wildcard will come down to ANA /Boston

Cubs will still walk away with NL Wildcard...Cubs have too many players not to pull away...right??

Cubs-Sox again fighting for respect outside of their respective cities...

Your quote is why I CANNOT stand most RedSox fans. They are such effing homers it's unreal. Every year they think they have a shot, every trade was good and they always match up well against the Yanks BUT it's the man...I mean the curse, that's holding them down. PUUUULLEASE...spare me.

Frankly, Cashman and Steingrabber looking to deal Loaiza is a good sign. Often these stiffs stay on the roster for years.

Don't get me wrong, Yanks fans are horrible as well but we fail on baseball intelligence/acumen. Our passion is real but we are often fickle and fatalistic. Can you imagine Jeter being booed in the Bronx?!?!? Idiots!!!

RedSox fans believe that their players/franchise can do no wrong despite the fact that they have DECADES of history showing heartless teams and dolts in the front office and in the dugout.
