Another STAT to consider tonight in the Cleveland/Atlanta game.

These teams have played 5 times this season, with Cleveland winning 4 of 5 games. In the regular season games, Atlanta scored 96, 96, 92, and 87 points. In the losing play-off game, Atlanta scored 44 in the 1st half and finished with only 72 points, 15 lower than their worst regular season performance.

Tonight's team total of 83.5 is only 11.5 points higher than their horrible Game 1 where they scored 28 2nd Half points, and at the same time it is 3.5 points lower than their worst effort in regular season.

HUGE value in this play........POUND THIS ANGLE!!!

Over 83.5 Team Total Atlanta Hawks

One other stat to consider.......in 82 games this season, Cleveland opponents scored 80 points or better in 69 of those games. The Cavs are clicking on all cylinders and are the team to beat, but they typically don't beat you with Defense......they gave up an average of 90.5 PPG this season.

found this write up to go along with yours.

The Hawks scored just 11 points in the fourth quarter in game one and only 28 points in the second half, numbers that are not likely to repeat for game two. Atlanta also shot just 50 percent from the free throw line so a small adjustment would have sent the total ‘over’ in game one of this series as it narrowly missed despite being on pace for an ‘over’ nearly the entire way. Neither team received productive bench scoring in game one while both teams had mediocre shooting numbers.

Four of the last six meetings between these teams played ‘over’ and this is by far the lowest total in the recent history of this series. The last regular season meeting in Cleveland was a full eight points higher and the first meeting in Cleveland this season had a total of 197. Both games went ‘over’. Although both teams have leaned ‘under’ so far in the playoffs this should be a higher scoring game. On the year Cleveland averaged 100 points per game and although the defense has stepped up of late, the Hawks should aim to change the pace in this game to get back into the series.

On the season these were two of the best shooting teams in the league and both teams will take significant amounts of 3-point shots. Cleveland is unlikely to have only seven turnovers again so there should be some more fast break opportunities and this total has bottomed out and tonight’s game should play ‘over’.

dont you think that the playoff intensity style defense that the cavs have shown thus far against detroit and now atlanta has something to do with these numbers?

I usually look at those types of stats also but I go a liitle further with it. Atl has not gone over 84 pts on the road in the playoffs so far. The closest was 81 points. At the same time Cavs has not given any road teams more than 84 pts in the their 3 home playoffs game.

Because of this conflicting stats for me it's no play.

That's exactly what I was looking at too. Not to mention that Atlanta is garbage on the road.

They're looking like garbage again on the road..........if they stay under 84 pts I will buy the over back in ATL.

This should be a strong play next game because Atl plays well at home..........ATL over the team total in Game 3

UNBELIEVABLE! I GOT IT! hawks missed several easy shots and they miss a shot with 6 sec left, then they steal the ball back! and then law makes it at buzzer to get it over 83 points, awesome

I loved this bet and took it and watched it for almost 48 miserable minutes with a big group of friends at a pub while getting chastised about how horrible my team was doing the whole time. At that buzzer shot the whole table erupted. No one could believe that bet hit, nor could I. Wow
