Wow.....how far this series has fallen........this one will be no where near a sell-out.....pulling out all the stops to do anything next to giving tickets away. Even Miami returned some of their 10K allotment.

Anyways, the Miami team this year returns 8 playmakers/starters that played as true freshmen. And for the 1st time in Shannon's tenure, he also returns an OL that is experienced. New additions at the RB position help add depth and poise Miami to be successful in the Run game. And they do have big play potential at WR. To think they won 7 games with so many young players is amazing really. I see how the Alabama Frosh transformed after a year in the college weight room and you have to think that these 8 guys will be much bigger, stronger, and faster than last year.

If you look at last season, Miami's Offense played much better in the latter half of the season. They scored 20 or more points in 6 of their last 8 games. In fact, they scored 20 or more against 9 of 12 DI teams last year. On the the flip side, FSU gave up 20 or more points in 7 of the 11 DI games they played.

FSU breaks in two new safeties tonight, and after losing their leading sack specialists to graduation (Brown and Moffitt), they have a banged up DL. Mincy, a Senior, is the only player confirmed out. But 3 more are not at 100% and depth could become an issue here if anyone else goes down.

I think you know where I'm headed here. FSU has the home field and that is huge in college football. But I think Miami has the Offense to make FSU's defense vulnerable to the big play. What put me over the top here was when I heard that Mickey Andrews said that this was the fastest Defense he had ever had. I thought....what????? And I said to myself.....what else is he supposed to say.....he's got to build confidence. I look at the roster and there is NO WAY this is the fastest Defense for M.A. at FSU......NO WAY......that tells me one thing.....he is concerned, and he is building up confidence in his D. Win the game? Maybe........give up 21? Likely.......

They scored 80 in the rain last year.....I think they can score 48 tonight. FSU's strong point probably is their OL......they play well......they will be able to move the football. There are HUGE question marks at playmaking positions for FSU. Used to...when you saw 4 starters returning it didn't matter because they simply re-loaded. And although they are recruiting better since locking in their next coach, I don't think the quantity of stars are anywhere near what they used to be. Losing Smith, Parker and Carr in one year is a blow. But several WR's played last year and someone will step up. The biggest question is who will be that power runner that they love so much. Someone must step up at RB.....

In other words......had their not been a Team Total on this game.....I would have played OVER. This was too tempting to pass up.
