I would like to get some recommendations for what site(s) users have the best luck with to make off-track horse racing bets. I'm in a state that doesn't allow ubet.com. Thanks for any feedback.

myhorseracing limits payouts -- besides WPS -- to 300:1? Does this include trifectas, Pick-3? Thanks for any feedback.

As far as I know, myhorseracing .com does NOT limit payouts on exotics.

SDS,

The only way to really make money is hit the occassional big payoff. Having a 300:1 limit restricts your odds greatly. This is very disturbing since the books aren't taking out the 15-20% off the top that the tracks are. Greed.

tcbets.com, I believe, also only pays 300:1. What do these firms take us for? Fools for anyone that signs up. Limit the upside to a miniscule 300:1? Who would even go to the track unless they were only going to play the favorites.

Brisbet.com is the best site -- in my view. I'm not in the mood to be limited to 300:1 payoffs.

How about a 50% CASH bonus? Or a weekly rebate of up to 7% of your horse handle? Or the ability to bet on over 85 tracks across the country? Or not hitting a track pool? Or not filling out a tax form? Triple Crown www.tcbets.com offers both bonuses and rebates on non parimutuel wagers. Check us out!!

Thank You

tcbets.com,

http://www.tcbets.com/racetrack_wagering_frequently_asked_questions_.html

According to www.tcbets.com, one can only win 300:1 on Pick-3s, Pick-4s, Trifectas, Superfectas, Pick-6s. Any punter who has played horses for more than a summer knows this is an outrageous limitation! Anyone who signs up with tcbets.com doesn't understand this rule or doesn't attempt for the occassional big bet. Next?

What are my limits?
"We offer the highest limits in the world. Full track odds on Win, Place, Show and up to 300-1 on all exotic wagers. Maximum payoff on any race is $25 000."

American Thoroughbred racing today is enjoying a renaissance, attracting a record $15 billion a year in wagers to an industry that has undergone radical changes since the glory days of Seabiscuit and Secretariat. Crist has been at a the forefront of some of those changes, and Betting on Myself not only explores the transformation of the sport but also tells a deeply personal story of his own journey through it.

Crist, who grew up in a Manhattan milieu of newspaper reporters and press agents and played the piano in jazz bars as a teenager, begins his story with his days at Harvard. Studying the mysteries of the Metaphysical poets was soon replaced by a daily pursuit of racetrack winners, and his growing obsession with racing, betting, statistics, and newspapers took him down an unusual path: a decade as a sports reporter and columnist for The New York Times; launching a new horse-racing newspaper with legendary publisher Robert Maxwell; betting $1 million a year playing the pick six while advising Mario Cuomo on racing policy, and even helping to operate New York's Aqueduct, Belmont, and Saratoga racetracks. Finally, after turning 40 and suffering a heart attack, he engineered an audacious bid to buy the Daily Racing Form for $40 million while living off his credit cards.

Author Steve Crist's unique memoir takes readers through his personal journey into journalism, gambling, politics and high finance. Whether you're someone who has never seen a Kentucky Derby or a veteran horseplayer trying to turn a profit in a changing game, Betting on Myself is an unprecedented and compelling tale.

"Whether he is planning the pick six, running the Daily Racing Form, or chiding the industry's leaders, Steve Crist has a passionate love of the game. "Betting on Myself is a wonderful memoir."
Andrew Beyer
Washington Post Columnist

"Sharp, funny, informative-one of the best books you'll ever read about this game."
William Murray
Author of the Tip on a Dead Crab and The Wrong Horse

"Steven Crist's journey through the multi-tiered world of Thoroughbred racing-from grandstand habitue to New York Times turf writer to Racing Times founder to editor and publisher of the Daily Racing Form, with a host of celebrated gambling triumphs along the way-is so uniquely creative in its sweep and scope that it quite defies anything that the sport has ever seen. The man is as tenacious as he is brilliant. In Betting on Myself, Crist tells the tale of his remarkable journey with style, grace, and a story-teller's art."
William Nack

tdbets.com question

Any info or feedback from tcbets.com on the 300:1 limitation? If I hit a $2 Pick Six, then my total payout will be $600 (300:1 x 2)? This compares to a $2500 - $100,000 at the track. What am I missing...if anything.

Belmont coming up....

Adval,

You are correct - $600 max on your $2 bet!!! No point in betting any good exotics with these limits. Hence the reason I jog down to the track to make REAL bets

It took me a while but I am also learning all of the limitations of these horse sites....and there are many! I can't count the number of "surprises " that I have had since my start. And IF you hit a big tri, do not be surprised to hear "sorry, your bet was past post" as the reason for them not paying you! lmfao

HERE is how I REALLY feel about the offshore books and their horsebetting setups (which SEEM more like a "second line of business" to their "other" endeavours at many places.
I'll try and keep this as short as possible.

a) Listing 70, 80 tracks and then when you go to bet one, it IS NOT ON THE LIST!!! BS!!!!

b) hit a decent payout and there always seems to be a good reason for not paying you (in racing it will be PP)

c) cannot connect for your bet so you try and PHONE it in. Either it takes 10 mins to get from customer service rep to ACTUAL order taker OR they take your bet and NEVER ACTUALLY PLACE IT !!!!!

d) website "freezes up" later at night and nobody at betting service to help you!!!

e) website refuses to accept certain bets with tracks that they list as participating tracks.

IN SHORT - I have grown tired of putting $100 into an account with a new book to "test it out" only to discover yet another fiasco. I have ONE or TWO tracks (Harness racing) that I spend most of my time on and I THINK that I have that offered there UNTIL I go to bet! Then what happens is I piss my money away on other tracks that I play out of boredom and the inability to do what I started out to do.

I should have looked for a book that would give me that "$100 startup" to PROVE that they had what it takes to get real money!

(I know, not bloody likely!)
I am tired of pissing around with it personally.
Good luck in your hunt.
You may just have to do what I am doing now .....drive to the track 4 days a week!
