Personally, they have to be out of their minds to even think of rebuilding this place where it exists, cities along the mississippi that were wiped out in 1993 were abandonded and never considered rebuilding, because its only a matter of time before they are destroyed again. For New Orleans, a city I LOVE, to be rebuilt is a waste of time, money and energy, they need to abandon the idea and let nature take back its place...the work of levies has created the monster that we are seeing now, man made! The river always reclaims its place eventually, its a scientific fact.

If anyone has a brain, they "raise the place" before doing it. Not gonna happen, but it's the only logical thing to do.

This is going to cost so, so much to repair, and they are just going to rebuild & set themselves up for the next one.

Dumb, really dumb.

the levee breeches have not been fixed. there is no doubt the whole city will be under 20-30 feet of water within 24 hours. most of the looters and others not in shelters are going to die. People in groups like at the superdome will get rescued. The government will see to it. There is safety in numbers. The looters should fill their pockets with diamonds and get to the superdome.

The people stealing things like shoes or TV's are stealing worthless items and are going to have to swim for their lives soon without them.

Mr. Smith, it's actually about 9 feet, and that's at the worst places. It will rise to the level of lake Ponch, which is 3 ft above sea level. Downtown & the quarter will probably see 3-5 feet of water, while areas along St. Charles Ave will see the 9 feet (there is a reason why it's the cheapest thing on Monopoly).
