In the Revere vs WSEX threads, the suggestion keeps coming up that a player might not be entitled to his winnings if the book doesn't know his exact identity.
I think is this worth its own thread: Do you have to give your real name in this business to get paid?
Issues to ponder:
1) Many posters here are anonymous.
2) Hardly any sportsbook owners use their real names (so why should the players be held to different standard)?
3) Considering U.S. position on gambling and the prevalence of hackers, why would anyone want their real info on a sportsbook database?
4) Many in U.S. oppose the (un)Patriot Act as being fundamentally unconstitutional and are refusing to comply with order to turn over info on people. (Librarians shred books request list so they won't have any info to turn over if FBI comes a calling.)
