So much history, so much hatred. One thing is for sure, this won't be your average/normal quarterfinal leg 1 champions league soccer match. For the most part for both teams, everybody is back healthy. James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos are back from suspension for Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid's Mario Manduzic has recovered fully from an ankle problem. One cause for concern for Atletico Madrid is captain and defender Diego Godin. He's on track to play but he has been battling a hamstring problem for quite some time now.

President of Real Madrid has called upon his team to put on a show tonight. No retreat, no surrender. Much of this boils down to the hatred he has for Diego Simeone and his Atletico team but some of it has to do with the fact they haven't won a single match against them this entire season. THIS ENTIRE SEASON (0-4-2). And with those results, this is why I wouldn't expect Diego Simeone to sit back and play it safe today. I'm sure he's had nightmares about the final last season and how close they were to winning it all which is why only 1 away goal tonight won't be good enough for them, they'll strive for 2.

With so much revenge and hatred on the line tonight, expect a ton of drama with a ton of goals. Blow for blow.

Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid over 2.5 goals (+115) 5D

You best bet of the day.

Can't believe people actually believe Godin is ready for this type of match. Prepare to be entertained for the next 2 hours.

These grass fairies spend more time crying on the ground than actually playing the game.

1st legs are usually tight and low scoring because there are two legs and you don't want to be at a big disadvantage headed into the 2nd leg. Very prestigious competition that everyone wants to win

Yeh, on paper looked like a good ol derby type game, but oof.

Both UCL games were pretty low key today

I get it. I really do. 1st leg tends to be cautious but enough of the diving and crying. Enough is enough already. Grab a set of balls and man up and play the game you get paid MILLIONS to play. Mario Mandzukic spent more time crying than actually playing the match. Many players did. I will say Real Madrid at least went for it early on but the Atletico Madrid goalkeeper did come up big but in the end the game really didn't live up to expectations for me.

I guess all the hatred really put a halt to the rhythm to the match combined with the cautious approach of Atletico. It happens but there's always tomorrow. I'm no dummy.
