I changed HS half way through junior year. New HS was way more focused on education, huge step up from my first one. Yet I missed class about 3-4 days a week junior & senior year. Most of the time I stayed in the PE area and played basketball or football. So I was at school just not in class. My report card had a total # of absences at the end of the year. I remember a few classes had around 100 absences and another had like 12 still graduated with a solid 3.0 All 'B's. I was immature at the time and did not care too much for school. If I could do it over I would do it different and actually try to learn something. I think I still have the report card, if I can find it I will post it
10th and 11th grade i never had a book or a pencil once. They would have locker inspections and i wouldnt even know the combination, never opened the thing even once. 12th grade same thing until i got my 30th something tardy. My mom went to the school and the principal told her he couldnt let me continue to get away with it because other students were complaining. They cut a deal....i stay away from the school and he would pass me! Mom came home told me just stay home on the days i didnt get there ontime...I thought i was dreaming!!
I naturally regret all this now but at that time i thought i had it made...............

Went to private school for sports and the whole school/team was under scholarship which is why the school went out of business this past year. When I look back, my dad says I was the only family paying tuition but I do have 4 state rings to show for it. Education was no good either and I have always thought public school is much better for education. Both private schools I went to were kids who got in trouble at home or got kicked out of public school. I went to Texas tech where I got a double major and it was kind of like an extended high school. Boy do I miss it!!!!! Kids will go to public for sure..
