After watching with a lot of intrigue this weekend the entire card of CFB, I'm jumping in this year with my favorite school as my first pick.
Here is why I like the Miami Hurricanes tonight.
1. Rivalry game. This is a big game no matter where these teams rank, year in, and year out. Both teams get up for this game and it's always an in-your-face, hard-fought game by both sides.
2. Youth Gone wild. The famous freshmen recruiting class of Dade County that Randy Shannon did so well getting two years ago is now a year older. This is the same team that showed poise coming back from a HUGE deficit vs. the Noles last year.
3. No more Marve. Robert Marve is gone, and this is Jacory Harris' team. On local radio and in paper interviews, he makes that very clear. This is a kid who is not used to losing. His h.s. team, Northwestern, dominated So. Florida football under his direction. Many of his teammates, including WR Aldarius Johnson, are on this U team with him. Harris will show everyone the U is back, and in a big way now that whiny bitch Robert Marve has moved on.
4. Points. I show +6.5. This game will be decided by a field goal one way or another. Gotta take the points in this one.
Call me a homer, but I follow the U closely. This should be a good one no matter who gets the nod, but I see the U coming out on top in a thriller.
