Rizzle I am new to wagering and the board

Can you please give some insight on how you handicap games. Since I am new at this I try to judge public perception of the game/line, trends, power rating of the two teams, and also eval players on each team...

Is there anything else I can review to help out in handicapping or is there anything that you look at that is different?

Thanks

You seem pretty spot on for being a newbie. I also use many of the factors stated above. Along with general football knoweledge, injuries, situations. After I feel I have compiled about 10-12 advantageous plays, I then put them through a filtering system. I use about 8 different systems that have been profitable throughout the years and try and narrow it down from there. As you can see with my opinions going 11-2 so far, the general way of capping has been most successful thus far, the systems just provide me with the cream of the crop for each week and alows me to cut down on juice by playing less games.

Hope this helps.....GL with your endeavours. :toast:

You have more than doubled your bankroll....regardless of the amount that's a huge accomplishment. Hopefully we can double that up and get you to $228.00. :toast:

Thanks for the information...Guessing when you say x amount of systems those are categories where you compare the two teams or is that x separate groups of set of factors used to compare each team...

Again thanks for the help

Hey Dizz, by the way, I have some more info for you on my NIU Huskies this week. It is our homecoming game this week, in which we are 9-1 in our last 10 straight up. The Huskies FINALLY were able to close out a tight game this past Saturday against Miami...which is monumental for them. In the 3 years I've been a student here, I've seen countless close games that seem to always go in our opponent's favor. The big close win should really give them some serious momentum heading into this week. Our opponent is the Toledo Rockets, who as we all know are coming off a huge win at the Big House. I had a feeling this win would get to their heads and cause them to think about some things besides the Huskies, and I was correct already. 2 Toledo players were arrested following the Michigan win, including wide receiver Nick Moore, one of their best playmakers. Here is the link to the story:

http://abclocal.go.com/wtvg/story?section=news/local&id=6447453

Toledo has a history of teams who have all sorts of athleticism, but simply aren't all there upstairs. An example would be that running back who was accused of shaving points in 2005.

My sportsbook hasn't released lines yet, but a source on the Huskie message board says we opened up as 7.5 point favorites. I have a feeling that line drops, as many people look at the Toledo victory over Michigan and jump all over them without looking at the facts. As I said last week, I dont bet with my heart because it always comes back to bite me in the ass, but if I had to, I'd take my Huskies this week. I'm not sure if you had looked at this game or not, but hopefully this info helps you out one way or the other. Good luck with your picks this week!

:toast:

Edit: I forgot to also mention that quarterback Chandler Harnish looks to be healthy again (he saw action this past Saturday). Unless week 1 was a fluke, this kid looks like a damn good player, as he almost single handedly led us to a comeback win over, apparently, a darn good Minnesota team at Minnesota in his very first collegiate game.

Another quick note on NIU-Toledo:

I have a feeling, Dizz, that your number crunching will come up with a ton of things in Toledo's favor. They have simply owned us in the past decade or so. Something to consider, however, is that we have a new head coach this season, and I'm sure one of his biggest goals this year is to take it to Toledo, and really get on the fans' good side as previous coach Joe Novak simply couldn't get past the evil empire known as Toledo. Toledo is absolutely hated here at NIU, and this team should really have intangibles on their side. Best of luck in your picks!
