Things I Deem Important For All "Sports Bettors"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is all opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.

Veteran, Rookie, Novice, or Pro I want to share a few things that I think ALL will agree on and will help us in the future.

1. Do not Overbet or Overvalue ANY particular play. MONEY MANAGEMENT is the Single Most Important aspect of "Sports Betting".

2. Play within your means and you will ENJOY the great game of College Football Win or Lose!! If you don't have the money right now, but "Love Action" just put $100.00 dollars in your account and wager in $5.00 increments.

3. Shop for lines, try to setup atleast 3 or 4 accounts with reputable sportsbooks. Finding the best line can be the difference in 10-15 Units over the course of a season.

4. Limit the amount of plays you have each week. If you cap games personally, after looking at all angles narrow down your top 5-7 plays. If you tail, read their analysis and then decide for yourself if the games make since. Rate them according to your thoughts based upon their analysis. (Still play only 5-7).

5. Understand each wager placed is YOUR money, and YOU wagered that money. If you lose, you have only YOURSELF to blame. (When one can finally realize this, you will become more successful).

6. KEEP RECORDS. Keep track of EVERY wager placed, I use an excel spread sheet, but you can use whatever you want. This keeps you from lying to yourself about how you are doing over the course of a year.

7. NEVER CHASE!!! If you go on a losing streak (which WILL happen), do not overreact and try and win it all back on "Tuesday night San Diego State Game". If you stay the course and stay logical, you will be back even or on top within the next few weeks.

8. Last but not least, if you go on a cold streak, simply take a few days off. Go spend time with the wife/girlfriend or family and enjoy your life a little. We can all get wrapped up in this secondary world we have created and forget about the great things we put aside for it.

This is great advise. Anyone new should take Randy's advise. Winning is the only thing but you will have losses. Even as great as Randy was this season he did loose some games. Money management by far is most important. As Randy states start small $5 bucks a game or so and stick with it. Set a target for your bank roll. Hopefully when you you hit your target you can increase your wagers. Maybe $10 but stick to money management. If you drop down to your original investment then drop back to the $5. Bet what you feel comfortable with. Never chase. You will only chase further in the long run. You will soon be out of money. All during the season Randy would mention money management. I thank him for that. This will be the first time ever that I will be making withdrawals from both of my accounts. I can't wait to get my checks. Thanks Randy

A lot of what I said most of you know. But I wish when I started someone would of told me this. I think most of you wish someone of told you. There are always new people here.

I hope some day I have enough knowledge that I can handicap as great as as Randy and others at this site.

This is just a great site for information. Thanks to all who contribute and to Wilheim for all his work.
Happy Holidays To All. Lets have a great bowl season.

People who may be just starting out. I used that as an example. It is just amazing how people can find something wrong with every post everyone makes. If 5 or 10 is not enough for you then bet more. No one is stopping you.

You mean half the world is betting this guys plays and he is betting them for $10 a unit. That is the craziest thing I have seen in all my 35 years of betting sports.

Not as crazy as someone who has been betting sports for 35 years and either can''t read or just doesn't understand what he is reading. You must make some crazy bets if you don't understand what you are doing. PLEASE SIR, make me the dumb one instead of you AND SHOW ME WHERE RANDY HAS POSTED HE STILL BETS ONLY $10 A UNIT. I see where someone else has posted this but that someone else was NOT Randy.

BTW, the first bets I ever made were playing 4 team football cards for $1 to win $9 and when I was in college, I was only betting a couple of bucks a game. Your comment saying who bets just 5 to 10 dollars a game is downright rude, talking down to the students here who don't have the extra money most working adults have.

All these comments on how much someone bets per game show why you are tailing somebody's plays.

You guys are all in fantasy land are probably consistent losers. I know he mentioned earlier in the year he was betting $100 a unit. Whatever it maybe, who cares? You start small and grow as your bankroll grows, and that is how you wager on sports.

You guys fit the typical public of "whos balls are bigger" yet if we watched you place your wagers when nobody is watching it's probably in that 50-100 range per game.

The best part about it is your clueless and wouldn't know that the average online wager is $14.

What a person bets is his personal choice. Some choose to bet $5, some $5000+. Point is, why would anyone care how much another person bets?

Friends I know bet small to make the games more interesting but they don't need the $. A few pull in 7 figure salaries and bet just for fun. A couple of mine are teachers who bet big in hopes they can actually make a comfortable living.

Point is - nobody really gives a shit!

There are some that could lose a dime and not even notice it, while there are others who could lose $10 and had to pay with the grocery money. This is why it dosn't matter how much someone bets, it's all relative to their income and bank acct.
