QB JaMarcus Russell of the Oakland Raiders is a mirror image of both Donovan McNabb and Daunte Culpeppar and that spells 't-r-o-u-b-l-e' for the Raiders imo. Neither McNabb nor Culpeppar did or have done squat for their respective clubs during their respective careers and from watching this guy perform todate, who by the way thought he was an underpaid NFL QB before he even took a snap from center, his tendencies certainly appear to be along the same lines as the two Qb's mentioned above.
Rule of thumb: Stay put in the pocket until you finally take a hit that puts you out of the lineup for four to six weeks or quite simply throw the ball up for grabs when opportunity comes knocking at the door, more often in the red zone. As a Raider supporter, I became completely turned off by this guy's attitude last season when he held out and missed practically the entire season, better yet an entire season of grooming wasted.
In plain English, that action merely told me this guy doesn't give a sweet shit about the Oakland Raiders because if he did, he would have reported to camp like he should have when training camp opened last year and let his on-the-field actions do the talking for him. In closing, I honestly believe the Raiders got caught up in the excessive hoopla surrounding this arrogant kid bigtime prior to the draft and unfortunately that catch will haunt both the organization and the team's offensive performance for a few years to come. To be more precise, I wouldn't be at all surprised if head coach Lane Kiffin turns out to be the scape goat in the end.
From what I've learned so far, here's to a very poor Raider addition via the draft.

stupid... and FYI both those QB's you compared him to have like 8 or 9 combined probowls and were (McNabb still is IMO) tops in league at that position in their best seasons. Not exactly scrubs who have floated around the league their whole careers.

But I really doubt Russell will be anywhere nearly as good as McNabb, and If he is then you should be thrilled.

Mcnabb is good.

I'd compare him more to Culpecker or Byron Leftwhich. I heard Jemarcus ballooned up to 290 pounds this offseason at one point. I mean, how motivated an unlazy could a guy be when you can't even keep his weight in check. You get paid to be a leader and be in shape, and you balloon up to 290?

Playing QB in the NFL isn't a long toss competition.

MCnabb sucks, he was ok first couple of years when he could run. Now he cant run and is a horrible passer.

maybe compare russell to more of leftwich or garrard but still he hasnt even played a full season so still unsure of what he can do. other than throw the football 40 yards while sittin on the ground

mcnabb has takin his team to the super bowl both him and culpepper before have been the top 3 qbs in stats in the league past seasons. . . .
