A few tips about laser: it's not as accurate as they lead you to believe. At a thousand feet the beam is something like 8 feet across. Lots of room for error there.
I have heard laser can not be used when it is raining or foggy. That is when a good radar detector would come in handy.
One other thing. I recently heard a guy that started a company for speeding insurance. You pay an annual fee and if you get a ticket, the insurance pays the ticket and your any extra charge to your premium. I think it costs around $20 a year. I can't remember what the site name is.
