A large group of gamblers that could number in the hundreds are manipulating the odds across racetracks in the USA. They will bet as much as 5000 on a specific horse and then methodically cancel the wagers...At the small harness tracks a 500 or 1000 win wager could make a horse 1-9 or 1-5. They are also betting the exacta pools as well. Beware....This will affect the publics wagers when they see a horse at 3/5 or 6/5 2 minutes or a minute to post...Invariably the horse is a stiff and will run out of the money....The gamblers will then box the tris or supers...they have done this with as many as 4 horses in a race...

I think he means that 100 different people will bet $50 each on a horse and then each person will cancel their individual $50 ticket. It's possible but highly improbable and things like this could be discovered by a simple computer analysis of betting patterns.

dickie were you run over at a harness track when you were a child? It must be me but it seems all of your posts are about how evil the Harness Racing industry is.

No offense but man you really seem to be on a mission against Harness Racing.

This is totally BS. The tracks and tote companies did away with the ability to cancel bets some time ago. It was even further tightened after the pick 6 scandal so that many mutuel clerks have even lost the four SECOND ability to cancel a wager when they make a mistake.

I'm not an expert here, but feel "888" has the best sense of this. My ( limited) experience is once you make a wager, you can't cancel it.

This seems " Fishy" to me.

I've heard of manipulating W/P/S prices( with big bets), and profiting by betting house Quinellas, at casinos.

The house "Q" being some percentage of win price multiplied by place price.

I don't believe this is doable , now.

I call BULLSHIT !

If one wanted to create a huge place price, it could be easily done in jai-alai ( only a couple hundred dollars in pool), but nobody would allow a house Q.

I can't believe this !
