extended kind words to Rep. Adam Schiff after the first day of opening arguments in President Trump's Senate
impeachment trial.

U.K.—Greta Thunberg continued her worldwide quest of righteous vengeance on all sworn enemies of Mother Earth this week by starting a protest at Willy Wonka's famous chocolate factory.

Thunberg demanded that the chocolate factory convert to zero-carbon practices right this instant. "We're not waiting 10 or 20 years for carbon-free chocolate. We want it now. I want it. It's mine. Give it to me!" she shouted.

Willy Wonka graciously agreed to give her a tour of the factory. Thunberg protested in every room, complaining about the polluted chocolate river and the gum that tasted like roast beef instead of tofu. But the room with the geese who lay golden eggs attracted most of her ire due to the poor treatment of the animals. She demanded that Willy Wonka change his practices "this instant."

"I want zero carbon emissions NOW!" she shouted. Music started playing from an unknown source and Thunberg began to sing.

Just then, she leaped up on a scale that determined she was a "bad egg," and down the chute she went.

"How dare yooooooooooou!!!" she cried as she plummeted down the garbage chute to the furnaces, which luckily run only every other day. At publishing time, Thunberg was protesting the furnaces for burning fossil fuels.

Zoe Lofgren, a California congresswoman and one of the senior Democrats presenting the evidence against
the president for abuse of power and obstructing Congress, said senators trying the case needed to hear
additional witnesses and evidence this week in order to provide the “impartial justice” that America depends upon.

“It’s for the senators to find out all the information I think they would want,” Lofgren told CNN’s State
of the Union politics program on Sunday morning.

“We have a great hope that the senators will do the duty that they are obliged to do, that they’ll take the oath
that they took seriously, that they will do impartial justice. That’s what our hope is and I think the country’s
fate is hanging on it.”

House impeachment manager Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) repeatedly told the Senate impeachment trial of
President Donald Trump on Wednesday night that the House case was “proven beyond any doubt at all.”
Nadler’s odd, and repeated, claim seemed to undermine claims by Democrats that they needed to see
more witnesses and documents in the trial. The House Judiciary Committee chairman played an unusually
understated role in the first day of the question-and-answer session in the Senate.

Lead House impeachment manager Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) tried to convince the Senate on Wednesday that
it had to subpoena more witnesses and documents because it could not “rely on what was investigated
in the House.” Schiff’s odd argument appeared to admit that the House investigation was insufficient,
even as fellow House impeachment manager Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) claimed that the impeachment case
had already been “proven beyond any doubt at all.”

If I didn't know better I'd swear Schiff and Nadler were Boehner and Ryan in drag.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that President Donald Trump can't be exonerated if
senators don't call witnesses in his impeachment trial.

five years for the truth to come out, it’s not going to take five months, it’s going to be five weeks or maybe
five days. And they denied the public 75% of who want to see witness, that opportunity to see people testify
under oath.”

Senator Angus King (I-ME) said on MSNBC’s coverage of the Senate impeachment trial Friday that Republican
senators voting against witnesses was a “travesty.”

King said, “What just happened was really a travesty. I’m still astonished. I was listening to the debate
on the question of calling witnesses, and I wrote on my notes in big letters ‘how can anybody vote against this.'”

by voting against any additional witness testimony.
