Fortunately for me, i was only a social smoker. Any time i drunk alcohol i smoked but some how this never transferred over as a regular habit. I dont think i ever got addicted but it was still hard for me to enter a bar and not get cigarettes..(ex girl friend said it was a some psychological tick)

Any way, i vowed to quit, bought a pack, lit about 6 cigarettes in my living room and laid them on ash trays. (i didnt smoke any one of them)...before the last one was fizzled out, i was sick of the smoke to my stomach...Never smoked again and i have a rabid hatred for tobacco!!!!

Smoking is a very difficult habit to break. Fortunately, I have never started, but being around those that have I see the troubles they go through trying to quit.

Take the money you would spend on a pack of cigs a day, multiply it times 365, plus 20 years then put that into Altria stock instead.

I think it's more mental than physical. If im not around cigs or people smoking i don't need one. But once my friend stops by and offers a cig... it's like .. why not. And then the pack is gone. I got a pack of Newports yesterday at about 7pm... it was done by 1am. Maybe gave 5 cigs to my friend and rest i smoked. I just suprise myself because before i picked up the habbit i was like who da hell can smoke a pack a day.. that's insane! But it's not hard at all.

That is true. Alcohol and smoking are on the top of the list for being the most addictive.
