Obviously very sad day in sports, and not looking to take anything away from the tragic events in Miami.

Curious what the standard is when a game is cancelled and how a season win total is treated by the books. Miami is right in line with their season win total @ 80 games, today's cancelled game could impact the bettors holding an over 80 wins ticket.

Thanks v much. Thoughts & prayers to #16's family.

Fair question for a gambling forum regardless of the tragedy. I don't know but I would assume they would take the wins total as is out of the 161...or depending upon how the money is distributed I could see them cancelling all bets. So...I have no good answer for you.

Damn good question and I just happen to have a damn good answer, compliments of 5Ho's. If the action on a play was impacted by the cancellation of the game, the play is null and voided. So if you have o80 games and at the completion of 161 games you're sitting at 80 wins, No Action is the call. Same math applies for under. There's obviously a myriad of possibilities but bottom line is if the bet is affected by the cancellation, you don't have a bet.

Awesome, I actually have an over 79.5 bet, so if they are at 79 on Sunday then it should be cancelled. Cheers buddy :toast::toast:

This is from 5dimes: Total season wins are graded for each team on the date the outcome has been determined. If a team does not play all scheduled games, and those games could make a difference in the outcome, then the selection is "no action".

Bumping this for others who are holding an over 79.5 ticket on marlins. My book originally graded it as a loss, now likely grading it as a push. Showed them the 5dimes ruling, which helped

Some books, including Intertops, have in their rules must go 160 games.
