I wonder if we'll eventually see a sports book DoS attack itself, to give themselves an excuse to slow-pay or stiff their customers. And make themselves look "stand up" for "not paying extortion". I have no one in mind here but just throwing out a possible scenerio.

Wouldn't be any different than a restaurant owner burning his building and then collecting the fire insurance.

I believe DoS attacks affect only internet playing, how can they use it as an excuse not to pay, if you call to get your pay out?
I don't think they can.

There is only one possible DOS attack day left, which is Feb 2, the Superbowl. I have to think that no other day would handle enough volume to make it worthwhile to go after until football starts again. Get your bets in early and don't worry about it.

Hopefully the books will use the 6 months off to find a permanent solution.

Drunkguy-
If they attacked on Feb 2, that would be great, since Superbowl is being played Feb 1.

With enough "Zombies" they can attack till 10 books at time.

What is incredible is that an ISP watching that amount of traffic do nothing about it.

Actually a good host provider will step in and do something. The problem is that the hackers can just switch to another IP to dos attack. So the host would have to sit there all day watching and blocking.

Most of the Ip's comes from AT&T and RoadRunner networks, they do nothing about it.
Since those are DDoS, Distribuited Denial of Service Attacks, it's most of a ton of desktop computers infected with a trojan to make them become a Zombie.
Windows, with all the security holes, is the one helping this, all the people should have personal firewalls.
