Question for those who know about website domain names

Email and offer him like $50 bucks for the name. If he's not using it at all and might let it expire he might take it. Or maybe he will counter with something low like $100 bucks too. If it's on GoDaddy didn't he pay like 6 bucks for it?

Where I work we get offers for our domain name all the time (and also offers for us to buy a similar domina name). Usually they are selling the name for around $200.

2008 is 5 years ago, which just so happens to be the longest length you can purchase a domain for (at least, through godaddy, and other "consumer" register services) - so he may not renew? Just a thought. I do agree with the others though, contacting him is the way to go.

I cant tell you how many times in the last 3 months I have tried to give people money but they wont do a simple thing like return a phone call or email.


These people spend mega money to try to get people to use them but when they finally do get that person on there site they ignore them.

#1) over 99.9999% of the people that read this forum would not be potential customers.
#2) the site has all my contact info and phone numbers.
#3) Some idiot like JC could cause me a lot of trouble if I piss them off knowing all my info. They could run up my PPC bill for instance. I get charged about $1.50 per click every time someone enters my site through a Google, Bing, or Yahoo search.

I have PMed my site to a few people I trust to get there opinion. Shdw is thinking about getting in this business so I sent it to him and a few other people.

If you would like a link to my site PM me and I will be glad to give it to you.

As a matter of fact you are one of the people I would like to hear from since you are the resident tech geek of therx.

Im sure you could look over the site and give some decent insight.

I don't even know what URL you are trying to obtain but you know I was not a big fan of the one you currently have (I told you my reasons). I think you should try to get this guy's URL from him cheap and you can still keep your current one and re-direct.

and you are right about not giving your site out right now. If there is no PPC then it can't hurt you much. Might actually help your google search results.
