Question for those of you who do not do much of your own capping?

Just curious -

I usually cap a few games a day as to who I really like - but also follow some of the cappers on here (plus I am an action junkie and like to bet on games)

When you see high profile games (for example, Wake vs Duke) and see some on Wake, and other hot cappers like MistaFlava on Duke with his game of the month.... do you just not bet the game?

Obviously for thos at work all day and who only get an hour after work to read these threads, it is tough to come to a conclusion....

Just curious how you decide to bet/not bet, and which side you pick....

I obviously like to see multiple good cappers on one side, but if I see a 2-1 advantage on those picking Duke, but see a good capper with the "play of the month" on the other side... I almost just want to stay away.

thoughts?

Some times it is best if you do just "stay away"; you will break even. Make your own determinations and ultimate decisions (selections) if and when you decide to bet.

and good luck; sometimes it sure helps.

i cap my own mlb, and cbb, but follow in cbb and nfl. what i do is i find 1 or 2, or however many cappers there are that are proven winners, with a documented track record and i play there every play for the amount they are playing. if you pick and chose you will ultimately lose. you will try to take what you feel is the correct side, but the reason you like it is the reason you aren't making your own plays to begin with. my advice is to follow 1 or 2, and do not jump from capper to capper.

homedawg is right. it's unbelieveable how many service plays get posted, and it's equally unbelievable at the differernt combination of losers. i do like seeing a lot of cappers on a game though. usually a good spot to fade them. a lot of these guys go off the same trends and angles and vegas knows this.

I was very successful at following/fading service plays in the NFL and CFB this past season. There is more of a science/art to it than just blindly doing it however. Many people will just blindly do one or the other and get burned most of the time.

As for following individual people, there are only a select few IMHO worth following for each sport. I try not to do it, but if I feel strongly about a play and see someone I respect on it, I'll jump on it as well.

there's a website i track along with this one. for purposes of not touting for another forum i won't post its name. but when i see a lot of services on a play here, then i go over there and see my fellow amateur cappers on the same game, that is definitely a fade/pass situation. i used to scratch my head at how so many people could be betting on say....northeastern or goddarn james madison....
