Just seen this, sorry.
I never changed my thing location on the Rx to say Las Vegas.
Not sure where home will be next in life but Michigan is way way down my list if we do decide to leave here. Many places I want to go and see after this. Getting use to this beautiful weather and don't miss any of those long Michigan winters at all.
Here is my latest blog entry (written on Tuesday of this week):
Well we did it. One year living in Sin City!!! I am sure there are a lot of people out there that thought we would never make it but things have settled in very nicely for us.
That 2.5 day ride out here was long and though it went great, it's one that I don't ever want to make again with two dogs and a cat.
The funniest thing about spending a year of my life in Las Vegas is I still haven't put a single coin in a slot machine, played at a card table, roulette wheel, dice, nothing. In fact all I have did since I have been here is what I came here to do in the first place and that was to bet sports and most of the time I do that from the comforts of my own home. So much for the exciting life of living in Las Vegas.
Last time I wrote I said I would try and get back into the blogging but that was 3 weeks ago. Just haven't been in the mood much of late but once again will try and get this rolling, like I said last time though at much smaller daily level. I will go into much greater detail about my first year of all this in the coming weeks.
It's been an unbelieverable baseball season for me. I was moving along at an okay pace (after stopping scalping and just betting) until the past week or so and then I really caught fire. That's usually the way it goes with betting sports daily, you never know when the streaks will come and go (good and bad). Most of the time it's just back and forth and back and forth and then out of nowhere BINGO, you get red hot or ice cold.
The past week has been unreal. I am not betting many games nor am I playing much money per game but I am making the most of the slowest time of the year for me. I am now up over 35 units (betting 1 unit per play) betting baseball sides for the baseball season.
One thing I feel strongly about with betting baseball is that it is the one sport with the most ups and downs for me from a betting perspective. Not only are the bad beats the most brutal, it's overall so hard to stay consistently ahead of the game. It seems you never get off to a good start for the year and stay above water all season long, there always has to be a few major slip ups along the way, unlike the other sports.
I will say though it does seem this year like the ups have been a little higher then usual and the downs have not been as low and that is how one has a really good year in any sport. What seems to happen usually to me in the past during a typical baseball season is that I go through 2-3 times during the year where I get ahead around 20 or so units for the year and I think okay no turning back , it's smooth sailing from here on out. Then it always happens, I lose and go right back towards even again. When this happens I look back and start to get depressed thinking how much time and energy I wasted for more or less nothing.
With all that said I am expecting one more terrible downturn this baseball season. Let's see when it's all done and over with how well I come out of all of this. I will keep my fingers crossed and hope this doesn't happen and I make it through the rest of the year without another major slump but my past experiences say it should be coming very shortly.
I wasn't planning on betting much baseball once football season got going but who knows now as I am really into baseball and enjoy the daily challenge of it, plus it never hurts when your winning either, LOL.
I owe a lot of my baseball success to once again not worrying about what everyone else says and does and instead working hard on doing my own thing. Slowly but surely I learned that valuable lesson in every sport I have bet. I feel now that if I put in the work every day, things will fall eventually right into place like they always do.
Another huge reason for me beating baseball this year has been the use of Matchbook. It makes things so much easier for me to think all I have to do is beat a one cent spread. It use to psych me out playing there, knowing that the sharpest of the sharps were there, making offers, etc but not anymore. Now I look at it like how in the world can't I beat a one cent spread when for all these years I have been trying to beat much more juice then this? I think to myself if I am going to do this for a living and I am going to spend all day working at this, then beating these type lines shouldn't really be that difficult when you think about it.
I give a lot of credit to the guys out there playing without MB, I am not sure I could do it successfully with baseball. In all reality MB is probably the greatest thing for us bettors in my lifetime and it is a place I plan on taking much more advantage of in the near future.
