i have followed you to some nice wins...but i have a real question for you...you know so much more than me as far as teams in general are concerned...but i bit my tongue because i am a baby when it came to the clemson game last night. i bet the house on the tigers and only because i thought it would be a very close game...even i didn;t think they'd win by 20 on the road, but here's my question...you know so much about so many teams in the ncaa but how could you be so uninformed when it comes to the tigers? the annual collapse comment was so bad...oliver purnell, i guarantee you, is a top ten coach in the nation...the only yea they truly "collapsed" was their first year under him. if you watch games, the tigers are clearly a real team. they took unc to the last second in evry game with far inferior talent. they beat duke fairly. the bottomline--if you want to win MONEY, bet the tigers this year!

Oliver Purnell is a VERY good coach. He had Dayton kigs of the A-10 and making runs to the NCAAB tournament every year. He went to Clemson when Clemson was bottom feeders of the ACC and struggling to win 10 games. He's probably not top 10, because you can probably name 10 hall of famers....

However, he's one helluva coach.

Doesn't suprize me that homedawg would make comments like that.

Whoa. I think that Homedawg pretty much hit the nail on the head. Clemson started 2005 Purnell's third year, 11-0 but did not make the tourney. In 2006 they started 17-0 and did not make the tourney. They made the tourney last year for the 1st time in 10 years. Purnell has made the tourney once in 6 years. I know it takes time to rebuild but lets not make him out to be more than he is. A helluva coach he is not. Decent/middle of the road is where he fits. He is making improvements at Clemson which he should considering the support they receive. But overall he is 250-261 in his career at Radford, Old Dominion, Dayton and Clemson. At Dayton in 9 years he took them to the tourney 2 times. He parlayed a 14-2 record in the A-10 his last year to the Clemson job. At Clemson he is 32-48 in the ACC so far. He has improved almost every year since he arrived but they have been feeding off pretty weak non-con opponents in November and Decemeber and then tanking to a certain degree in ACC play. So hence Homedawg was pretty much right on the money with his collapse statement considering they have collapsed 2 of the last 3 years after starting a combined 38-0 they only managed to make the tourney 1 time. So don't bang on him for that statement. Just my 2 cents.

Oops Wikipedia had his total record incorrect. It is a respectable 350-261. Still not great. Doesn't make him a helluva coach.

Considering the state Clemson was in, and the expectations, on top of the talent level, I consider Purnell a very good coach.

Of course they struggled come ACC in the long run, pretty much every team does that doesn't finish in the top 4or5 in the ACC.

Homedawg, I've already told you we could do a contest, yet you dodged it and declined.

I'll be posting again here starting tomorrow. I was on a business trip in Florida, and when I got back relatives from Nebraska were flying back home Sunday so I went up for a pre-christmas party and spent time with them since I haven't seen them since last year.

My plays speak for themselves.

what does a contest prove? it would be over a short sample which doesn't mean shit. just look at my record last cbb season, this past mlb season, and observe this season, you may learn a few things kid

i don't understand this at all... 5-1 yesterday and ppl still bitch about Indiana.. when hes asked for his opinion on 30 different games by everybody, i think he might miss 1 or 2... wow, great call on clemson jwhite.. next time why don't you post it instead of bringing it up after the fact.. homedawg, youre exactly right about the contest.. keep doing what ur doing and let the haters hate... up 25 units over 150 games, thats called consistency.. your record speaks for itself..

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and thoughts, but please don't bash anyone because he doesn't cap certain games. Everyone caps their games their own way and post the plays they think are good cover potentials. Just because they didn't pick a certain game you circled or give reasoning you disagree with does not give you a reason to argue about a cappers preference or plays.

Bucs, Home, Gimmie, CK, etc etc are great cappers and the reason why we all value their opinions. But that's exactly what they are opinions they come up with after their own style of research and capping.

Records speak for themselves and I must say that HD is doing a great job! Along with Gimmie and Bucs as well.

Just my little 2 cents.... since I made a few off of you guys in the last few days!!! LOL!!!

If you posted this BEFORE the game I would have given you major props... but of course you didn't so all respect for "jwhite" has now gone into the shitter...

I must have missed the part of the original post that asked for Buc's opinion. Thank God for the ignore function.

The only sport I keep a record on from this forum is NHL.

I kept records of BIG10dominator and I's competition as well.

I play half totals, and sometimes half spreads, pretty much never play game spreads/totals.

Records don't mean anything to me, they're decieving and quite frankly, anyone can lie about their plays.

Alright fair enough but if you want a competition just start your own thread, play your plays, keep track of Hd's and see who does better. It's hard to lie about your plays here because if you are successful you will get exposed. Just keep your record and you can have your own little competition.

Thats BS about records being meaningless. You keep records + units and I don't see how it could be misleading information. I'll go back and do your record because I'm at the office and I run a seasonal company so theres not much to do. But I will give you a YTD record with units if you wish.

are you really that stupid where you can't comprehend when i say record i mean units? what is the point of a contest? it would just take away from time from the plays that i actually wager REAL MONEY on. I am doing a contest with OTK, and barely have time for that (even though I am 18-9 this month). If you want to compete it's not hard, I post my plays daily and keep an accurate record (including units, didn't know I had to specify that?). Still trying to figure out your use on this site? You don't provide anything useful, just want to be a tough guy and challenge people to contests. Well kid, I don't have time for you anymore, so this will be my last post acknowledging you. GL the rest of the way
