Can't remember which poster it is. My brother rescued this dog from a shelter. Did a DNA test and he is 50% Great Dane, 25% boxer, 12.5% German Shepherd, and 12.5% unknown mix of breeds. He looks more like a black lab than anything. He is an awesome dog and they don't want to get rid of him, but he has bitten 2 female adult guests in a month already. Was scary, I witnessed one of them. There would seem to be abuse by a female in his past, because it makes no sense. His wife will not let them keep the dog, but I may take him, since I am single. My question is, is this curable through training? Also, he shits in the house, and even in his cage. He's about a year old, just a great playful dog and so nice to the family and to me. Can this dog be trained to be an ideal dog, and all this stuff trained out of him?

I'm no expert, but I have heard that being young he can be trained.

He can be "cured" but will need lots of love and attention. Won't be easy Illini, if you decide to keep it you are probably saving his life cause he may be put down at the kennel.

Nope.

Why go to the table and start the game with horrible cards?

But if you keep him, you might try to show him dog meat festival videos from China..... if that doesn't shape up his behavior, then nothing will.

Ps. You might not want to watch those videos if you aint got the stomach. Best of luck.

He is definitly young enough. He needs love and praise. Get some training treats and when he shits outside praise him and give him a treat. Dont beat him but be firm. He will learn and love you as his master
