For some reason mother's day is a national holiday in Costa Rica. So we closed early.
We are doing well enough and are NOT fizzling out. In fact, Friday night we had a great group for the Denver 49ers game. I saw a lot of familiar faces. Welcome back guys and thank you.
In preparation for the NFL and college football season, we have been working on a few upgrades and changes, which will be complete in two weeks.
So we will be closed on Sundays until September and most other Costa Rican Holidays.

Stupid name for sure, I don't think I could patronize a place called 'GOOOOOOOOL'. Nothing drives me crazier than the stupid tico announcers yelling 'GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL', I definately wouldnt make that the THEME of my bar if I was trying to attract Americans (read: people who spend money).
well I disagree with that for several reasons
first of all, if the bar is going to have the 'American' look (disclaimer, never been to the bar) then we, Ticos, are going to go
second, regardless of location, potential customers will always be (for the most part) Ticos
third, why can't we name something Goool......which at least a Tico (like me , can pronunce) as opposed to some American name which noone but a few can pronunce
the most annoying thing for me is to show up at Taco Bell and say "Quiero 3 Border Steak Bowls......." and then the poor cashier girl gives me the "que???" look and then I have to resort to "combo 3 por favor"
I have no problem with Gooolllllllllllllll......if you see an American walk in the door hand him a flyer that explains the meaning of the name.....and offers some useful special and thats it

I think its a fine name, we are in Costa Rica and the name obviously was meant to attract locals as well and with the new stadium coming up next door it makes perfect sense. Im proud of where Im from, but you whiney as Gringos that hate everything you dont understand makes me want to shit in my hand and sling it at you.
I love the TOT, but anybody who has ever tried to get there in taxi without knowing the directions knows that a normal taxi doesnt know what the fuck or where the "Time out Tavern" is.
I guess we should change the name of Escazu and Santa Ana so the big spenders that live there will be able to pronounce it.
Maybe we could combine the towns and just call it Springfield so you guys will feeel better about where your money is going.

There is a trick to it. You have to go to the picture, highlight the whole thing, sometimes it only works if there is a caption, so start by grabbing right after the caption then start drag your mouse up to highlight the whole picture. If there is no caption you have to start from under the "make a comment box"(once its posted you can delete the unecessary html) Right click and copy then paste into the reply box. Does not work with the quick reply box.
