How much Money can The House excpect to make running a 5/10 game....in one evening...say about 9pm to 5am (8 hours or so).

Assume that the house is the dealer....

Or if you hired a dealer...

Anyone ever run such a game or any idea how profitable it may be...

Well i know my buddy sometimes run a holdem 15-30, 20-40 (since vancouver's casino's highest limit right now is 10-20 *kill*)

and he makes $3 rake per pot (flop seen)

If you have a shuffling machine you can get 40-45 hands dealt...and if you shuffle/wash by hand you can see anywhere from 30-35 hands per hour.

so you can make easily $90-$100 an hr based on a $3 rake w/ 10 players at a table (excluding tips)

there was a big bust the other day so right now there is more platers than games available...

my friend is thinking of running a game on Saturday & Sunday night....hmmm 100 X 8 = 800$ X 2 = 1600$ per weekend. or more than 6K per month...

Even if you make $90 an hr...and get tips...for 8 hrs..you'll make a few coinage!

However poker tables and clay chips are expensive (you will need to invest)

And you can always rip the customers of with the over-priced beverages and food/meals LOL

Savant,

That 'big bust' is the main problem.. running a gambling game is usually a felony type of charge. The problem is neighbors complaining about the cars or a losing player turning snitch. There is money to be made but not without some risk.

You really need to know someone. My buddy runs a game out here and does pretty damn good BUT has a dad who is a retired police big wig in the town.Up there first timers probably would get off with a slap on the wrist and even if they made you do 6 months from what i hear its like a country club. I would go for it, just know your players

Being about an hour out of Ottawa and seeing the likes of the Lac Lemay casino kill the small charity casinos that were being run in Ottawa, there is a dire need to get some card action in the city. The pricks across the water want it all for themselves. There is nothing at the Lac Lemay casino except house games. Should see them clean house with all ofthe young casino "virgins" playing WAR. They feel like they been fvcked pretty hard in the end of a 20 minute session at that table. A friend of mine ran/owned part of Diamond Gaming, but he folded the operation and has since moved to Vegas and last I heard was dealing there , but not sure where. Surely the governments of either Ontario or Quebec should pull their heads out of their asses and say " hey this is a risk free venture. Just deal the cards and collect a rake." They should not have any problem paying a few dealers $20/hr seeing as they are pulling in around a million daily and more on the weekends.
