Would it be profitable to deal 2 lines for each game say -3 -110 either way and -3 1/2 -105 for both basketball and football??? As opposed to just dealing a single line?? Or maybe a single line at -105 either way?? Looking for some input. Thanks.

What you are doing is becoming a reduced juice book, hence the -105. The other line you are talking about is the ability for the punter to BUY a half point or more for a set vig. The book cannot operate profitably if a punter can set his own line at a reduced vig. The book will get a steam visit hourly as games all over the world are staring night and day. Some books already deal 2 or more lines, it just depends if you like favs or dogs and some of the shit books out there will shade the line to their benefit. Just my thoughts

All books deal several lines on basketball and football full games. I am talking about buying points, in most cases buying a basketball game down from -3.5 -105 to -3 will cost you an extra dime, (-3 -115). The same goes for + 3.5 -105 or -110 to + 4 -115 or -120, depending on the juice offered on the original number by any particular book you choose to play at. Naturally books that offer reduced juice to begin with will charge that much less juice to buy a half point.

wil.

I understand most books have seperate lines for each customer, what I am talking about is offering everyone 2 lines and alow them to choose: For example tonight:
Toronto Raptors -2 -110 or -1 1/2 -115
Boston Celtics +2 -110 or +1 1/2 -105

Would this be a good way to run a book using this format for all NBA and NFL games??

Yes it can be profitable in football. The 1 point in foots is money, the issue in hoops would be fine as well I think, cause most do not know anything about the numbers. The average better will lose. Thus profitable.

Gagne, you need to charge .10 cents a 1/2 point.

Toronto -4 -110
Toronto -4.5 -120
Toronto -5 -130

Boston +4 -110
Boston +4.5 -120
Boston +5 -130

Also on key numbers like 3 in football you need to charge more than that. In fact don't let them buy on or off 3 or 7 and you should be alright. What are you asking about this for?
