If someone went to Roulette and constantly played the same color, how would they lose?? For instance, they play red for $1000, they lose but double there bet. They keep doubling there bet until red hits after picking red every time. How does the casino keep something like this from happening?? Obviously people can't get away with doing that or else more people would. This isn't something I would ever do just something I was curious about. Answers?? I have never been to Vegas so I have no iea

About 5-6 years ago, I played Roulette at Circus Cirucs in Reno, NV. I was the only one playing at the table. I bet 100 on red and lost. I bet it again and lost. A total of 8 straight 100 bets on red and I lost all 8. I could have sworn that the wheel was rigged.
I rarely will play BJ or roulette now when I go to Vegas.

And hurry up and have that pizza delivered, and fast... You don't want that customer to get it past 30 minutes, or they get it free, now jump in your car fast and deliver it..

Valdosta - table limits. If you had an infinite supply of money the plan would actually work if there were no cap on the amounts you could wager.

Mcirish is correct.

Doubling up, after 8 straight losses you are $255,000 down. now if the table limit is $200,000 you will bet $200,000 in order to - hopefully - be $55,000 down after a winning spin.

There are casinos - such as Monte Carlo - where there are tables with no limits. In theory your system will then work providing you kick off with more money than the casino, so Bill gates could clean up in there.

In theory. In practice, I'd guess they would boot you if you were reaching for a $10m bet or so.

Lose 100..double bet...lose 200...double bet...lose 400...double bet...win 800... you're up 100... Looks like a great play right?... give it a shot. You will get your ass handed to you. Problem is, the odds of losing a bunch in a row to the point where you're in too deep are bigger than the odds of winning using this strategy. Therefore, long run, like with anything gambling related, you'll lose.

Very true.
Understand one thing- the BALL does not know where it landed last time !!! Statistics are meaningless and only hold true for EXTREMELY LARGE samples.......samples do not have to contend with a bankroll! I was playing Roulette not long ago and the WHOLE BOARD was RED!!!! LMAO. Forget the red/black game as a strategy and use it ONLY as a slightly less than 50% chance for even money.
I have an approach that has worked for me fairly well in the past , but only gives you a 10 min window of opportunity IF it even materializes during the evening.
Good luck to you.

Your chances of loosing are big because of the zeros. Some places use a zero and a double zero. I would not recommend using this strategy because sooner or later you are going to be down to your last nickel and wondering why the f**k did i start in the first place.

bag of tricks beat me to it.

on a 00 table there are 38 spots where the ball can land. 18 red, 18 black, 2 green. do the math to figure out the vig you pay for each time you bet on black.

Euro tables have one zero - much better odds for us. Up here, there are only the American tables with two zeros (greens) and that pumps up the house odds noticeably.
Regardless, that whole display board CAN run one colour at any time and break you fast. Bad strategy - steer clear of it.

good luck

No. Actually you are both wrong. No bet size
or bank roll size can change the odds of a
negative expectation game. Again, the game
cannot be beaten long term no matter what
your bank roll, or bet size is.

Another point: If you have an infinite amount
of money, winning a constant roulette bet
leaves you with the exact same amount of money.

infinity + C = infinity

Think about it.

________

I have to disagree here big time.. If you are playing for 100 bucks each time and everytime you lose, you'd be doubling up, then what happens when you do lose those 17 spins in a row, which will happen eventually.. No way is anyone going to bet millions on the next spin, to only be up 100 bucks if you are right, and be down hundreds of millions if you are not right. Nobody would bet those odds. And don't think it's not possible to lose 17 spins in a row, I've seen it done before.

And if you ever decide that you want to try roulette for a living (which would be silly)

NEVER EVER EVER play at a table with 2 green zeros. You will be cleaned in a hurry. The hold is twice as high for the casino.

One zero.- Casino hold 2.63%
Two zeros- Casino hold 5.26%

__

So that means if you are playing 100 a spin and you play for 12 hrs straight.. Lets see here, you spin about 40 times an hr (if table is not that busy) times 12 hrs, that's 480 spins in one day. 480 x 100 per spin, you have bet in one day 48000 dollars in bets. At 2.63% hold (one green zero only) you would lose 1262 dollars a day, and over 2500 a day by playing the roulette with 2 green zeros..

Stay away from Roulette. It cannot be beaten
