When I was in college we rented a big tv from Rent a Center - needless to say they repossessed it - literally, repo'd it - we left the door unlocked and by the time my roomate came downs stairs they were carrying it out - I don't know if it was a Mitsubishi or not - that's like the Rolls of TV

Jefferson, your're pretty creative.

Rent to Own stores prey on the weak and poor.

Get a credit card from Best Buy and get the tv interest free for 3 years and you'll have the TV paid off in 12 months at the rate your paying.

Send it back right away.

aaron's has the better deal, i've looked into it.

SheBar did nine years with Aarons here in Florida. (Now sells high end furniture)

GJ's sarcastic lead post aside, Aarons is the clear leader in the industry.

You'll pay about 2x the retail price if you spread it over 24 months.

But they are the only rent-to-own that reports payments to credit bureaus so you're building a legit credit history.

Rent-a-Center also affiliated with Colortyme and both come up way short these days to Aarons.

Seriously tout Aarons as a good invesment stock on the NYSE with the economy being fairly fucked and more people supplying furniture, electronics and appliances via this style of payment

The first payment has to be on time, after that if your going to be over three days late call them and tell them why. They have certain numbers they have to hit and one of them is cust paying ontime

GBAIT correctly notes that it's pretty standard in the industry to start calling on "Non"-pays first day overdue.

Aarons groups them in 7DaysorLess, 8-14Day and 14-21Day

They will usually go for the repo at 8th day if short history, or 15th day if longer history.

Here in Florida until about the year 2004, they wouldn't prosecute people who took product and ducked them (or relocated with product). But for past five years or so, they will definitely prosecute for theft. And on a bigscreen or any product over $750 it's a felony.

Yep, your in deep - she's yours - now it's like dropping your dog off at the pound because the new place doesn't allow dogs - I don't think you got a bad deal at all
