Where does DB Service get their opening and closing lines? Do they get them from a particular book, or are these lines a consensus of the the prevailing line at their member books?Thank you in advance for the answer.
Don Best provides users the lines at selected books. They only serve as a link from books to their subscribers. They are not producing their own lines like a line service might do, only supplying you the gambler with lines the individual books provide them. The more you pay the faster the lines are updated.
They also supply injury information and some other small things as well.
If you have the premium service you can choose CRIS, OLY or the Stardust as the openers on your feed. I think DB uses CRIS's openers and closers on their data that shows opening and closing lines.
When I used to work there (when Al Corbo was still alive and running the place) a man named Jerry Kilgore (who used to run the JK Sports Schedule) supplied the OVERNIGHT LINE.
STRUT888/FISHHEAD - I agree with you. Castaway gave an "I think..." answer.
This is one thing that has always bothered me about the free Don Best screen.
They're offering a free service because they hope to impress people and entice them into using the pay service.
But they don't specify where they're getting their opening line from, which is an extremely important piece of info. And it is incredibly sloppy and unprofessional of them not to post this information on the screen or in the screen information.
Unless something has changed (and I have not been to LV for little over year) Stardust the best source there is. They up first and the lottery boys bet into the line and the changes come fast for first 10 min. I have always considered it the opening. Works for me.
