I opened an account there earlier.I have not posted up yet. However I got two missed calls on the phone I gave them the number to with no id.Then they called the house and my girlfriend answered and they asked for me and I was away so she asked what this is about and they said in reference to a sportsbook account he opened and wanted to confirm the address she hung up.

Has anyone else been called by them after opening an account. Also why are they calling me on a number I did not give them.I do not like that and also how did they get my house number?I really hope this book doesn't cold call me all the time becasue I will not post up with them.He left a number to call them back at and when I called it it wasn't a valid number.Any feedback please.

I've been with Bowmans for years and not once have I gotten a phone call. I've gotten the odd email and snail mail, stuff I said they could send me. You must have OK'd phone calls, check and see. Bowmans wouldn't do that unless you gave them approval to do so. Easy fix is to call them, tell them you don't want to be contacted by phone.
FYI - If I remember, I did have to confirm my address by phone. Just call them re: your concerns, they're customer service is the best in the business by far.
Good Luck.

Nicky - I've had an account with Bowmans for many years. They may have called me once, but luckily I beat my wife to the phone.

I'll tell you what I don't like is all the mailings I get from different sportsbooks. Somebody is now sending me a complimentary copy of Gambling Online. Now the whole neighborhood knows I'm a degenerate gambler.

That is strange. The only one to ever call me was Carib several years ago and their reason was "to confirm a deposit I made by credit card". This was way back when cc deposits wouls work. I thought that VERY strange, but they never did it again. Go Figure.

I never have had Bowmans or any other book call me because I never give my phone number. All my bets are placed online and all contact is through email.

This sounds very strange. You should call them and tell them the name and the (wrong) ph# of whomever called you.
I think it is a good thing when books confirm information upon opening an account rather than only when you make a withdrawal. That way they nip bonus scamsters and dupe accounts in the bud.
Anyway, I have never had anything but top drawer service with Bowmans, and never an unsolicited phone call.

Thanks for all the replies.I called Bowmans and it was them who called. They wanted me to fax a copy of my ID over to them. The fax number is one number off of the number the guy left to call. The part I still do not like is why they call a number that is not the one put down on the acct.I told the rep and he was like well how did we get the number then.I told him I have no idea and if you must call use only the number on the account.

Ive used Bowmans for 4 years..Top shelf book I think the only reason they would have called would have been for your benefit.

They have my # and have never called it though.
