Quarter Line Question

Why is it my book has WV -3 for half but minus .5 for 3rd quarter and even for 4th? Doesn't make any sense to me. Jumped on CU 4th quarter and half but I just don't get it.

Maybe because WVU had the ball 1st in the 2nd half, they figured they might have one more possession in that quarter...

WVU would still have to win either quarter to win the wager. It doesn't really matter.

What I was really asking was why would the quarters add up to a line of .5 for half and the half line be 3? Common sense tells me they should be close.
