After lagging for a little while, the price of gold shot up earlier this week to $1270 and then spiked again this morning. DGP is up to 34.83. It's up over 4% in 2 weeks. I just wish it would do this every year like it has the last 5 years at this time of the year.

Just going to sit back until the middle of October and will re-assess my position at that time.

Thanks Coaster.

I don't know about the market. I've tried figuring that thing out. I need to spend more time with it.

However, gold seems to be another thing. As long as Barack keeps on spending it should go up. It's also a good hedge against the dollar going down.

Got another bump up this morning around 10:30 Eastern. DGP to 36.72 in after-hours trading. Sitting at +9.9% for this trade so far. I just wish gold would go up 5%-10% every fall like it has for the past 5+ years. It would be nice to make 1 trade and wait a month or two and collect your 10%+. Of course nothing is ever that easy.

This may sound odd but it is time to start looking for a potential drop in the price of gold. The price today got bumped up to 1343/oz. and DGP closed at 38.42 (up 15.00% from my purchase price). The reason I say it may take a dip is simply on account of the seasonal gold average for this time of year.

However, this should not be an automatic decision since only once in the last few years has gold gone down in early- to mid-October. It's worth a watch though.

Gold dropped $30/oz. this morning. I'm not sure it's due to the typical October dip. The price did jump up more than usual the last week so maybe this is just a correction.

I like to look at the general trend since last month. It's been going in a straight line since then. This correction is still in line with that so I think I'll hold on a little longer unless we get another correction

Just watching the price climb up at the same angle since the beginning of August. If the price spikes up it usually spikes down a little. Just as long as it keeps climbing at the same rate I'll hold on to it.

Current price of gold is $1368/oz. Current price of DGP is 39.96 (up 19.60% from purchase).

Back in DGP @ 38.69.

Gold went down when priced in Euros but not dollars. Now it's going up again to follow the trendline of the last couple months.

Out at 37.70. Broke the trendline. Looks like I was 1 day too early in getting out.
