Stop buying dogs, someone please adopt a puppy. A friend of mine found 6 of them in a box at a park, 5 are males. I will spay/neuter them at cost or I will arrange it with someone if for some reason I can't. They are in Rohmoser, send me a private message and I'll give you more details.

Mixed breed / zaguatitos. A month old.

I am with you on the adopt/don't buy.

Puppy factories have to stop, people buy one today, get tired of it /too busy/move /etc tomorrow and one more stray hits the streets.

Jack, FYI, ANPA offers low cost spaying/neutering on certain weekends. Perhaps give them a call and ask them when is the next one?

Is that a giant pink penis?

Anyway, really hope you find a good home for these pups.

Yes, the surgery I can do it myself or I can get a friend to do it. They'll get better medical attention that in a massive "castration campaign". My friend doesn't want to take these puppies to a shelter, she'd rather try to find them a home herself.

Jack,
2 questions. Are you a vet in the rohmessor area and if you are have you dealt with english bulldogs much? 2nd question, How big do you think these puppies will get? I might be interested in adopting one, but i live in apartment and i dont want to deprive it of space to run around if that is what it needs.

No, I'm not currently working right now, and to be honest with you, there are very few vets I would recommend. The best for small animal medicine is a guy in Perez Zeledon. And the clinic at Universidad Nacional for surgery. That's it.

I owned an english bulldog, they carry a lot of problems, any in particular you are wondering about?

I haven't seen these pups, just in pics. But usually mixed breeds are medium sized dogs. Dogs pretty much adapt to whatever space they have, with a few breed exeptions who need constant physical activity. But these should be fine in a small apt, just take him out for a walk everyday and house train him properly. Even most giant breed dogs don't need a lot of space, great danes will live in an apt just fine. In my experience mixed breeds make the best pets, they are usually healthier than pure breeds, more loyal and smarter.

My bulldog is about 7 months old and relatively healthy. The only problem is his skin. He constantly chews at his legs, paws, and scratches his belly actually until it bleeds. I am pretty sure it is a food allergy given the symptoms and what i have read on the net. He is on pro plan lamb and rice for puppies right now. Is there a better brand of food that you would recommend? Maybe Iams or science diet. Other than that he is a pretty healthy puppy besides the snoring and the farting! LOL! we currently take him to the vet that is open 24 hours in Rohmessor by the embassy. They seem to be the best one that we have found so far. He is a great dog and it is not an end of the world health problem, but it is very annoying and it obviously bothers him a great deal.

Eukanuba (Iams) and Science Diet are better than Pro Plan, but Pro Plan is still a good brand. I would recomend that since you already started feeding him this brand, you should stick with it for a few months to see the results. And yes, given the symptons it could be food hipersensibility (allergy). Don't feed him/her any treats. How long has he been on this special diet?

You also have to consider objects in your house that could cause itching. For example carpets, sofas, blankets, anywhere he/she lays down. Pay close attention to this.

Unfortunately there are no Veterinary Dermatologists in this country. If your problem doesn't resolve in a month or so I would suggest a skin biopsy, that's one thing we are lucky to have... a good Veterinary Pathologist. Looking at tissue he can determine if its an allergic reaction or if its infectious (fungal, bacterial).

He has been on pro plan for about 1.5 months maybe. We actually put a shirt on him because i think that the maid used way too much clorox on the floor. However now she uses disinfectant and then cleans it again with water. We never give him any treats what so ever. He was on Pro Pac for a little while but it is impossible to find. Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.

You're welcome. Stick with the Pro Plan food for at least a couple more months, if its food allergy you should see some improvement soon.

Cool. It would be awesome if we could find homes for all these puppies.
