What a waste of money...

Not if it gets the Angels say 5 playoff appearances and a ring or two.
If Albert puts 6,000 extra asses in the seats every home game, the contract pays for it self.

The contract is a bargain for the Angels. Even if they got no boost from attendance, they will still come out ahead due to the lucrative tv deal they will be finalizing soon. The Angels are in a better position compared to the Marlins who are locked in their deal until 2020 so they are banking on increased attendance to come out ahead which is iffy in Miami. If they don't get it, look for a fire sale within the next few years.

I can tell you the prevailing attitude in St. Louis is see ya Albert! Many people are taking it personal which to me makes no sense. It always has been and will be about the money with Pujols and his desire to mae the most money to satisfy his ego. St. Louis fans should appreciate and respect what he has has done as without him they don't win two WS. I personally don't wish him ill as he lives a clean lifestyle and has always played hard for the Cardinals. But the fact is paying ten years for a guy who is probably four years older than stated and HGH testing will begin next year means he will hit about .275 with 20 HR's and 85 RBI's with multiple hitting into double plays and only get worse from that point. His career has been on the downside and will continue to be.
