In the East the Capitals are heavy favorites over the rest of the field. Caps are just way too stacked, they've got the right role players you need to win a championship, which is rare in the East.

As a Kings fan the only team I'm worried about playing for the cup against is the Caps. They have scoring, defense, goaltending. Plus they picked up Justin Williams this year who is money in the Playoffs (LA's MVP in their last Cup championship). They also picked up a hungry Mike Richards, who'd love to stick it to the Kings.
There will be eight or more legit Cup contenders when playoffs open.

I'd honestly like to see the panthers or islanders make it from the east just for the sake of something different.... Who the hell knows, the caps could end up playing the penguins 1st round and losing, its so unpredictable... the presidents trophy doesn't mean shit once the playoffs start... no doubt the West definately has a mix of the better teams... but All them good teams gotta beat the livin piss out of each other to make it... Would i be suprised if the blues or dallas made it ? Not really... Kings ? Blackhawks? Ducks ? There all on the same plane! I can't make a call on who's gonna come out on top, but ill tell you what, i cant wait to fuckin watch it ! Aint nothing better than the NHL playoffs .. AMEN
