A decent amount of them points came off 3's deeper than an average NBA three. They played very well in that game, but don't be fooled. They hit a lot of crazy shots like Battle before half from way down town and another 3 he banked in, Pringles also had a 3 from way down town. I just do not see them shooting the way they did in that game and when they shoot bad they lose (who doesn't). There half court offense is not efficent and as someone stated if Battle or Cornley do not produce PSU does not produce. The last time these two met may have been Mich. worst performance of the year. I think the travel along with the emotion of coming off that huge win a few days ago may lead up to what we know as a let down game. Also lets remember this is the first time in a long time PSU has had some rumors about making the tourney. Young players+inexperience+huge road win+publicity=LETDOWN. I personally see a let down here from PSU and look for Michigan to win by about 8-10
Not trying to be an ass, but do you watch the games? You know how many times Pringle, Morrisey, and Battle attempt deep 3s?
Pringle is shooting 50% from deep and Battle around 41%. Battle is probably the best overall 3 pointer shooter in the conference this year aside from Craig Moore.
You can sit here and say that PSU played lights out at MSU, but don't forget they dominated Sparty in the 2nd Half at State College. You talk about stopping Cornley and Battle and you stop Penn State. So, does that mean if you Stop Harris and Sims, is UM then done? Isn't stopping a teams top 2 players generally the idea with every team defensively.
Yes, Battle hit some tough shots at Breslin, but he has been doing it all year.
I am not trying to knock you if you think UM is the play, but don't tell others you think UM is the play because Battle hit a few fluke shots. Using your argument on 3 3 pointers, how did they score the other 63 points?
Penn State is a better team than most are giving them credit for and they shoot the ball very well.
