Could you fine folks please help with the proper grading of a Pro Bowl prop bet. The wager in question is will 1st first down be scored by run or pass play?

The question, I guess, comes down to whether the Steve McNair touchdown pass counts as a first down or not. Does the referee have to signal a first down for a first down to be officially recorded?

Thanks!

was a run play

1-10-NFC21 (14:55) D.Culpepper pass incomplete to A.Green.
2-10-NFC21 (14:50) A.Green up the middle to NFC 32 for 11 yards (E.Reed).

Thanks fellas. Got my answer. A. Green actually ran for two first downs before the McNair pass.

Would still be curious to know whether the McNair pass is officially scored as a first down.
