#Fight for 15!!

Wendy’s said that self-service ordering kiosks will be made available across its 6,000-plus restaurants in the second half of the year as minimum wage hikes and a tight labor market push up wages.

It will be up to franchisees whether to deploy the labor-saving technology, but Wendy’s President Todd Penegor did note that some franchise locations have been raising prices to offset wage hikes.

These jobs that will be lost are never coming back. No worry, thanks to Dems those who lose their jobs can just get 99 weeks of unemployment then go on disability.

what kills me is how the fucking idiots never once take into consideration the business model for the fast food industry, it can't work with idiot politicians trying to run the show

next week, some fucking idiot will say something like "we're going to close the tax loopholes that encourage businesses to automate replacing minimum wage employees", and libtard nation will start chanting "low income lives matter"

fucking idiots

we need to find a cure

What kills me is that the left never looks at labor as just another product that is being bought and sold in the market. Creating a "living wage" makes as much sense as making a minimum price for the cost of a car to ensure that no car maker will ever need a bailout. If no one will spend $55,000 on a $20,000 car, why would anyone spend $55,000 on $20,000 worth of labor?

Building robot McDonald's staff 'cheaper' than hiring workers on minimum wage

The worrying forecast could threaten jobs at the fast food franchise, a former CEO of the company warns

A former McDonald's CEO warned that robots will take over staff jobs at the fast food empire - because it's cheaper than employing humans.

Ed Rensi has said that buying highly skilled robotics is a cheaper alternative than employing people on minimum wage to work in the company's worldwide restaurants.
He warned that huge job losses are imminent, and commented that it would be 'common sense' to replace humans in the workplace.

This comes as a study into the future of human employment has predicted a surge in machine-led work such as robotic counsellors, body part makers and virtual lawyers.

A battery-powered robot serves dishes up to 8 hour a day in a restaurant in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning ProvinceThe worrying research, by professor of management practice at London Business School, Lynda Gratton, and futurologist David A. Smith, suggests that humans will be replaced because robots are able to produce better results.

Prof Gratton said: "Studies have suggested that a third of jobs in Europe will be replaced by technology over the next two decades."

If the recent comments are to be believed, McDonald's staff could face the same fate.

Former CEO Ed Rensi said: "I was at the National Restaurant Show yesterday and if you look at the robotic devices that are coming into the restaurant industry.

"It’s cheaper to buy a $35,000 (£24,000) robotic arm than it is to hire an employee who’s inefficient making $15 (£10.20) an hour bagging French fries.

"It's nonsense and it’s very destructive and it’s inflationary and it’s going to cause a job loss across this country like you’re not going to believe."

He told FOX: "It’s not just going to be in the fast food business. Franchising is the best business model in the United States.

A demonstration for workers' rightsProf Gratton added: "As middle-skilled roles disappear, workers may find that the 'rung' above them no longer exists, and that the career ladder may begin to look more like a career web.

"The ultimate implication is that workers cannot now expect to gain seniority by moving 'up', but rather moving sideways by gaining additional complex skills."

Somehow I don’t think he cares if you’re somewhat embarrassed for him.

no, he wouldn't be, if he had any self respect he wouldn't act so stupid

and self respect is a prerequisite for being embarrassed

the mayor of libtardville is in the same boat

Typically that’s the way it worked back then when your parents weren’t wealthy.

Today it’s considered demeaning.

The results are predictable:

How is wanting $15 an hour for working in retail or fast food any different than wanting the manufacturing base from post-WW2 up to the 80s to return by imposing tariffs and regulations? The only reason many of those jobs would pay well today would be with union or gov't intervention.

Either way, you are asking for the government to step in and distort the market in your favor.

Boom. Patsfan dropping the truth.

It all comes down to being able to relate. These Trump voters can relate to older blue collar workers who have lost their jobs to innovation. They feel empathy for them. Can't relate to a 23 year old African American kid flipping burgers.

If politicans were honest, they'd come out and say free trade/innovation/efficiency is going to benefit 90% of you. It's going to bone the other 10%. We're all going to have to chip in to help the 10%.
