Problem with a sportsbook

Question about a sportsbook, I post rarely but here goes my question:

I am very loyal to one book. I am not a big bettor, but steady. I deposit anywhere from $500 to $1000. I have deposited at this book, via neteller and Western Union, probably $50K or so this year and got back in withdrawals an amount somewhere around there or so. I deposited today with them around 45 minutes before kickoff of NC State game. I called in 10 minutes before kickoff, money not in account, I ask if I could place a play pending the deposit. I understand the problems with doing this but I have a track record with this book and had been allowed to do this on 2 seperate occassions before. I was told no. Long story short, the money gets in after the kickoff (of which they have to tell me about) and I am allowed at no time to place a wager. Would I be doing this were the play not already a winner? Who cares, the point is, I offered to tell them pre-kickoff, I am a VERY loyal customer and think they are perfect for me, but after this, I am done with them. I understand they were busy, etc., so the deposit might take awhile, but WAS I TREATED WITH THE PROPER AMOUNT OF RESPECT, DUE TO MY LOYALTY AND PAST DEALINGS WITH THIS BOOK? I don't think so. There customer service department is always borderline unfriendly, but this was just bad to me. I asked for the manager, "she's busy", can I speak to someone else to see about allowing me to place a wager pre-deposit hitting my account, "the manager,", Okay, "she's busy." Maybe I will cool down and go back with them, I don't think so though. Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill? Thanks.

Ramdaddy good to see you post, unfortunately under lousy circumstances. For any book to take an "if credit" bet is no big deal. Any mid-level manager should be able to handle this type of bet, especially with a loyal and longtime customer. It is simple to get you to repeat the bet on tape, and read back that the bet is "If Credit Only", the tape protects the book if any problems arise. I think I understand you probably hate to leave a comfortable out, but in this case, I don't blame you. (btw. I have no idea what book you are talking about).

If it unfolded the way you said I would already be asking for my balance sent to me,and after you recieve it I would write the manager and tell him he lost a long time customer and why he lost you

I agree. it is really not a big deal, that's what customer service is really about, although just a piece of advise, try and make the deposit at least 1½ hours before game time.

Thanks for replying Wilhelm. You can look at my past posting history here and tell I don't gripe about a whole hell of a lot, but this pissed me off. I got this email from them just now: "I must apologise for the inconvenience caused. Our local western union system was down and we were busy trying to verify all transaction sent in.
Sorry that you missed your game, whenever you have difficulty placing wagers
because of any particular reason it is best you speak with a supervisor or
call Customer Service @x-xxx-xxx-xxxx.
You need to send money in time to place your wagers, remember it takes time
for us to verify with western union.
Good luck to you and we look forward for your support."

I emailed them back stating I did exactly what they suggested above and deposited in plenty of time. It just pisses me off royally, and it's not about the money ostensibly, because I am in no way a professional gambler, but it's the fact that I feel I have been more than loyal to them, have a great track record,etc., have done the pending deposit bets before (albeit rarely), and then am told NO and ask to speak to a manager and she is busy. It is the seeming lack of respect that infuriates me. I just do not understand, but perhaps I am wrong because I don't know the industry as well as others.

Ramdaddy, you are not wrong to be upset. The manager should have found some way to handle your problem. The fact that she is busy does'nt get it. Was she busy with a customer more important than you? If I ran the book in question, I would personally go out of my way to make this up to you. In the meantime, I am sure lots of books will appreciate your business. Naturally these kind of plays always win, when you want to get down but can't. GL. with the rest of the Bowls.

I agree. I will be upfront. I have had nothing but GREAT experiences with the book. I request a Western Union withdrawal, bam, same day after 6pm EST, money there. No problems ever. I will tell you the book because I would still recommend them to everybody as I think they are the greatest until something like this happens. The book was Olympic. I, in no manner, shape or form, think they are a bad book. On the contrary, I think they are great, they just left something to be desired this time and it will cost them my business. No big deal I am sure to them as I know they are a huge book. I even emailed them and said that I know (from reading this forum) that Spiro (?) is in the Olympic hierarchy of management and that if he were to call me, explain the logic behind what happened to me and tell me I was wrong, I would consider staying with them, but I feel that I am in the right b/c they need me and not vice versa. I understand me leaving the book is no big deal to them as I alone am not much, but were everyone of the smaller gamblers like me to leave as I will, it could hurt them. Again, nothing but great things from Olympic in the past which makes this hurt all the more in the present.

Take advantage of it. Ask them for a Bonus Play or something for the inconvenience, if they say no, then leave, just give them a second chance... just a thought.

Taking your money elsewhere is the only way you have to make a stand, it might not be much for them, but it is a lot for you my man, and that's the only one you should care about.
The idea is not to try to hurt the book, but to help yourself out.
Do what you feel must be done.

Chrome;

Ramdaddy has a legitimate beef with TheGreek.com. I would recommend him to talk to Wally, as I'm sure he will be able to discuss this situation thoroughly.

Now, what does any situation with an agent have to do with this? Let me tell you: nothing. I would recommend you to stick to facts and to things you know.

Any agent situation is better off if left out of the forums; unless -of course- you're trying to stir up unnecessary shit.

I was going to play over 13.5 for the 1st quarter, then while I was on the phone, it was gone and was going to play over 32 for the 1st half, of course, but was never allowed to at all, all times before kickoff. As I said, for the record, no gripes with Olympic in the past whatsoever. Paid me in 24 hours or less everytime. I just felt that I am loyal enough with enough money in action with them to warrant more professionalism and courtesy. Thanks to all, especially Wilhelm, for the comments. I just felt that I got a raw deal.

Hang in there RamDaddy, looking forward to your input this baseball season. I always paid attention when you posted in the baseball forum.

Walk - Good post. FWIW - no ML tonight, like the favorite - 5 or 5.5 -110. Looks like the game will close Packers minus 6. I was lucky to lay 5 -110 about an hour ago. GL.

I would Agree Walk Of Life Unless the situation is true and possible sets The Greek in a Financial Bind.

Never have used and probably will never lay action with Olympic, but I sure have no problem discussing what has been unfolded in the neighborhood and I personally don't care what book is mentioned if I believe there is enough merit to read between the lines of the problem or situation. I would also like to throw Olympic a bone, I have been told numerous times they are a book with hi limits and holdup well with great customer service.

Thanks Wil. I just found 5.5 -112. Sure enough I hit that shit...LOL; despite of liking the raiders to win outright. But after last nite, I wouldn't dare to go against you.

I'm hedging, in the worst case escenario.

GL, my friend.

Chrome;

I hear you, but I've learned that this type of situations involve a lot of factors and that the exposure in the forums never really helps to solve anything, this type of post can only make matters worse. IMHO.
