Just suppose your son and daughter are held captive and have been sentenced to be beheaded.

The terrorist involved has been captured.

Standard interrogation methods only get the answer: "You'll know where they are being held soon enough when the video of their execution is released."

Wouldn't you use whatever works to save them?

In fact, wouldn't you want the opportunity to torture this terrorist with your own hands to force him to release the information that would save your children?

Be honest, now.

This is of course the same situation in microcosm that we faced with the captured head of Al-Quaida.

And we successfully prevented the attack on the Liberty Tower, the largest building on the West coast filled with thousands of Los Angeles liberals whose lives were saved by enhanced techniques.

Two points:

1. In the justice system, victims do not get to determine punishment or interrogation techniques because they are too emotionally invested in the matter, and are not reasonable. We are a nation of laws, not men.

2. The timeline on the Los Angeles tower attack doesn't support your point. The plot to attack was discovered and prevented before the Rosie O'Donnell looking guy was captured and tortured.

The problem is so many people believe government always knows what is best and that government is so far superior, both in morals and intelligence, to the country's own citizens. Truth is, we should believe the exact opposite, always questioning what the government does and hold them accountable to always do what is right, never assuming they know what is best for us
