The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced 108 modern-era nominees for the 2018 class on Tuesday.

Former Vikings receiver Randy Moss is among the players eligible for the first time. Moss, who is third all-time with 15,292 receiving yards and second with 156 touchdowns, is considered by most to be a lock for induction when the committee votes on Feb. 3.

Moss caught 982 passes, 15th all-time, during a 14-year career that also included stops with the Raiders, Patriots, Titans and 49ers.

The list of Hall of Fame nominees will be reduced to 25 semifinalists in November and then to 15 finalists in January.

Joining Moss as first-year eligible players are former Steelers receiver Hines Ward, former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis and former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher.

Former receivers Isaac Bruce and Terrell Owens, both finalists in 2017, are again on the list for 2018. If more than one receiver is elected to the Hall, it'd be the first Hall of Fame class ever to include multiple receivers.

Other first-year nominees are wide receivers Steve Smith and Donald Driver, offensive linemen Matt Birk, Steve Hutchinson and Jeff Saturday, defensive linemen Richard Seymour and Kyle Vanden Bosch and former Buccaneers defensive back Ronde Barber.

Hutchinson and Moss are by far the two best! Every QB that played with Moss had their best ever season. And every running back/game that had Hutchinson had their best rushing seasons. Just look how far Alexander tanked and how good Minny rushing offensive became after Hutchinson left/came. Chester Taylor journeyman rb had over 1200 yards with Hutch leading the way. Minny went from having a 600 yard back to a 1200 yard back.

On a side note Holmgren should have been a first ballot HOF by leading two different teams to Super bowl victories had the game been officiated correctly.

Agree with prior post but need to add Ray Lewis. Although his HOF speech may be 2 hours long

Ray Lewis is arguably (but only slightly arguable) the greatest pro sports captain of all time.

I love John Lynch but Ronde Barber deserves to be elected over anyone else on that Defensive Backs list.

Only player in NFL history to record at least 45 interceptions and at least 25 sacks.

He was also a great special Teams player...
