Last year and this year I couldn't tell you who played or what the score was. From the way Goodell speaks, he could care less about 30% of the base. Good for him. He got a new 5 year deal. I'm pretty sure the NFL doesn't care if ratings are down 10-15%. Goodall is afraid of black social justice warriors. The game has gotten boring over the last five years. Too many penalties controlling the tempo and outcome. Give me the Icky Shuffle back and some McMahon at QB. That's all.

The protest stuff is definitely part of the ratings declines. NFL relies on tons of casual viewers to watch the games, the avg fan isn't someone on the RX or playing fantasy football or with 3 accounts at Bookmaker/5Dimes/Betdsi (hey sponsors!) It's just your regular bro who can easily take it or leave it. If just 10% of that viewer decide to leave it because they're put off by something like players kneeling then it is a lot of people. It's not a niche sport like boxing where you got your diehard audience that will put up with tons of BS over the years because they just love the sport, a lot of casuals in NFL viewing equation.
I also don't bust my ass to get home to watch a game. The game goes on. Life goes on. But, if I want to watch a certain game I will try to make sure I watch it. Which is what you do I am sure, still. Meaning, say what you want about how the kneeling affects you. But, you aren't completely done with the NFL.... like I said.
Very few people are completely tuning out the NFL just because of the protests, regardless of what said you are on. For or against Kaep. People are boycotting. But regardless, that is a very small percentage that you don't even fall under. And 99.9% of people here who have the opinion that these protesters should all be cut, those people will still bet the games, still play fantasy football, still watch a game that they want to watch.
Regardless of how much people around here say they hate the NFL because of black athletes kneeling. Even though there was a white guy too. But regardless of that, 98% of the people here who have a problem with it....may not admit it, but most certainly still watch. NFL refs are the best they have been in a LONG LONG time this year. From what I have seen. Dead honest truth. That rams/49ers call was just an obvious miracle that the Books got. Because no way you can tell me books weren't sooo fucking happy with that final score.
