First of all, Dante thanks for fixing the password problem.

Over the last few weeks we have seen and heard of many Player/Book problems. It seems as though any of them that involved Prescription Books were resolved to the player and books satisfaction. This should become an important factor when deciding where to send your cash, although our money is never 100% guaranteed you have got to figure that if there is ever a legitimate dispute and one that does not involve Bonus Whoring or Scams of other natures that the Prescription and it's principles (employees) are going to try and resolve it.

It would be great to go through a Football Season without a Player/Book dispute but that just doesn't seem possible so my advice would be

1. Research the Book
2. Read and Understand their rules and Limits
3. Make sure your personal info is correct in case of a dispute
4. Be ethical (sort of hard when gambling but if you're going to take a shot at a book, circumventing the rules, don't be surprised if the same happens to you

Good Luck this Football Season

RIVERCARD GOOD POST BUT WHAT DO YOU DO IF A SPORTSBOOK HAS A WRITTEN RULE AND STILL TAKES YOUR MONEY.HOW COME THE SPORTSBOOKS CAN BREAK THERE RULES AND THERE NOT SCAMMERS BUT IF A PLAYER DOES IT HE'S A CROOK/

RIVERCARD I DONT KNOW IF YOU WERE AROUND DURING MY CASCADE DISPUTE BUT I BET A CELTICS GAME AT 7.20 AND THE GAME STARTED AT 7.05.THEY WAITED UNTIL MY BET LOST THEN TOOK MY 660 DOLLARS OUT OF MY ACCOUNT.RIVERCARD I READ CASCADE THERE RULE BOOK LIKE YOU SUGGESTED AND THE RULE CLEARLY STATED (ALL WAGERS WILL BE ACCEPTED UP UNTIL THE POSTED STARTING TIME OF THE EVENT) THIS DIDNT MATTER THEY CHANGED THERE RULES AND TOOK MY MONEY.SO YOU SEE RIVER IT GOES BOTH WAYS AND THE SPORTSBOOK ALWAYS HAS THE LAST SAY BECAUSE THEY ARE HOLDING YOUR MONEY

BTJ, I was a lurker at the time but do remember the incident. My opinion on it was that Cascade did make a mistake leaving the game up past the 7:05pm start time and although in my opinion you did take a shot at the book by past posting they should have cancelled the bet and rated it as NO ACTION regardless of the result.

Your issue really wasn't any different then some of the others here like the Sick Gambler multiple account thing or Revere's false info. They broke rules much like you past posting did, but I think that your abrasiveness and ability to rub people the wrong way may have been a reason that you didn't get the support they did, just my opinion of course.

But even after all the ranting and raving that occurred, if I remember correctly you did say that you would let the issue drop if Cascade donated the Money to charity and they did.

Hate:

Cascade is Beantown's claim to fame, but he will endorse Lenny if they advertise at MJ's.

HatetheRivercard- I hope more people like yourself start posts that involve this fascinating industry. The more talk about offshore sportsbooks in this forum is a very good thing to anybody visiting here. I for one would love to see you keep giving your thoughts on the offshore industry.

Thanks for the thought guys.

Strut, alot of the threads here are entertaining but I would like to see more on the industry. I can't believe how many people there are that just send off money to books without educating themselves, then when problems occur they come to the forums for help pleading ignorance. I'm not stating that coming for help is wrong but if players feel that they can circumvent rules by manipulating them then we're certain to have problems, just as there are problems when Books don't put enough time into properly mapping out their rules or educating their employees enough to understand them. Obviously an example of this is the REVERE case, in all probability he took a shot at WSEX with his wagers, and WSEX should have had an employee monitoring all incoming wagers at that time. (if they are aware of their software problem and don't have an employee in the office then they should set their software to only accept wagers during operating hours). Failing that they leave themselves open to taking a hit on a side. Deciding who is at fault (Player or Book) will in all likelihood result in variing opinions as would the age old question of which came first the Chicken or the Egg.

Obviously with your your continued stout statements on the industry as a whole, we can all lean further in that direction. Have a safe and profitable football season sir....and the best of luck to you.

HateTheRiverCard,

Excellent topic and I doubt I'd ever get near you playing poker for money, lol...

In the REVERE case which you so eloquently present, WSEX does have the software available on every sport EXCEPT soccer to prevent the situation that occurred with REVERE from ever happening...

Although I am not a techie, my understanding of what transpired according to WSEX was most unfortunate because they do have the software which usually changes the line after a strong bet...

However, the fact that there is also a "DRAW" in a soccer match (meaning 3 choices for gamblers to bet on the outcome instead of 2),
left WSEX vulnerable because they did NOT have a software program to adjust the lines whenever a bet was made)...

SOCCER is the only sport where a TIE is usually featured as a very possiblre outcome, when a bet comes in on a side, there are 2 things that need to be updated rather than the customary 1.

Since soccer is considered NOT to be a major event for WSEX gamblers, WSEX decided they would manually vhange the odds whenever a sizeable bet would be made...

Unfortunately for WSEX, there were no employees at the office between 4 am and 6 am to update the line each time REVERE BET...

They took full responsibility for this and paid the gambler (something I don't think the vast majority of other elite sports books would ever have done)...

I think the Shrink just painted the best picture of the situation that I have read to date.....and a short concise form to boot. Nice job Kenny.

Thanks Ken,

Strut is correct in that your explanation is short and concise and explains the problem clearly. I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to attempt to explain it for fear of becoming McIrishesque and having a response 3 paragraphs long

Hopefully if WSEX decides not to change there software they should at least remove soccer games off the board when the office is empty to avoid another reoccurance.

One would hope so, HTRC - very good posts, will enjoy reading more in the future. Also liked the way you coined the phrase, 'McIrishesque'
