I have entered the SC since 2011 - so this is my 7th year, my career point total is 272 - 230 good for 54%
Last year I went 47.5 - 35 good for 58% - I use to believe that 51 points would be enough to get some cash, back but each year the competition gets a bit better.
The Westgate pays into the top 50 now
the 2016 winner had 55.5 points and the top 50 had 50.5 points
the 2015 winner had 60.5 points and the top 50 had 52
the 2014 winner had 64.5 points and the top 50 had 52....that was incredible year for the chicago ballers, they had the contest basically wrapped in week 17 .
My 3 goals every year - are 1. Win my entry fee back, 2. Finish in the top 50 - so we need at least 52 points this year 3. Win the whole ball of wax,
I always bet my 5 games with 5% of current BR and that has produced enough profit to get my $$ back, I have only had one losing year. On my trip to Vegas this year I won $2,500 shooting craps and $1,000 betting on sports by tailing some hot cappers. I have learned not to try and cap my own games when in Vegas for some reason my capping goes sideways when I am away from routine at home. Maybe it's because I am usually hung to the HAHA. But that means goal #1 accomplished, because I paid for my entry & proxy fee and then some!
So what has to change to get to from 54 - 58% to 62-65% ....That is 5-6 games better over the whole year. Well last year I tweaked my system a little bit and finished strong, starting in week 11 I rolled my 3 of my systems together instead of looking at the individual components and my avg'g jumped to 64% over the last 7 weeks. One of the components is comparing Open lines vs the PR Rating I use, so it could be a bit shaky in the first month while I get my PR's set, But I have been able to hold a .500 record through Sept in the past so a slight better performance there could get me on my way.
So to everyone who joined the contest best of luck !
