I will leave the Mods to last, I know I won't recall everyone but I want to give a shout out and a special thanks to the following Rxers who made an impression on my memory over the weekend...
Gravy: I called him GravyMaster, a huge bear of a man, but a gentle and intelligent bear. Excellent horse player, always happy and willing to share his horses or ballgames with fellow Rxers..Impossible not to like..
Kermit16 - A wise man with a lifetime of knowledge that is priceless. Not one to take any BS but also very kind and humble among his friends..Of which I hope to be considered one.
BillPapa - Very friendly individual, someone you could certainly count on in a pinch. Possesses a kind of hidden wisdom about what makes the world go round.
Akilles - Smart yet humble. Fun loving yet quiet, most certainly a worthy opponent at the poker table. Hard to tell how far his extraordinary intelligence goes. IMHO honest as they come.
CoachLT - Integrity along with a huge heart - you will be hard pressed to find a finer friend given two lifetimes..Great sense of humor to boot. My main man CoachLT - luv ya always.
Coaster - A gentleman from the word go. Appreciative and smart. Definite nice guy.
Djmatt - full of life and living it to the fullest. Hilarious but not at the expense of someone down on his luck. Hang with Matt if you like having fun.
Fair Warning - Another bear of a man who easily exudes the fact that he is a hard worker and someone who makes his own way in a tough world with his wits and brawn..Pretty sharp gambler to boot.
Gyno - In person as happy go lucky a guy as you will ever meet. Never bashfull, loves to gamble regardless if the stakes are small or large. Good guy who most likely is a loyal friend and willing to have your back in tight spot.
Dante - The salt of the Earth, an intelligent grown man who still has the sense of humor of a youngster. Would not hurt a fly for any reason. Loyal and fairminded - a friend to all who know him. Dante personifies Rx Bashes year in and year out...Liked by absolutely everyone.
Mr Leisure - happy go lucky great guy who is at home in a sportsbook more than anyone I have ever known..Pretty sharp with the ponies also...
CoachCB - Young and full of piss and vinegar. Fun loving guy who also carries a certain respect for his elders like his mentor CoachLT.
TomGshotput - cerebral and well spoken. Fearless and smart is the impression I came away with from a conversation we had. Self confident in the best sense of the word. I know he will do well in his new environment.
The RightSide - very different in person than on the forum. Enjoys being successful in this world and works hard to be independent. Yes I do like you....wil..
Patswin - A gentleman who appreciates a kindness, definitely a solid guy to hang with. No ones fool either.
Hal01 - Big strapping guy who has a great time whenever he travels. No question about it a sharp gambler and probably the same in business.
Porno Paul - I wrote a lot about Paul in my memories post. Generous to a fault, truly a sharp and savvy businessman who also is willing to share his success with his friends..Does quite well with the fair sex also...
Quantumleap - What can I say about an Rx Hall of Famer who I mentioned in my Memories post. QL - stone cold gentleman and all around great guy. I consider it a real privilege to call him friend.
Viejo Dinosaur - Also mentioned in my other post. I don't know of a more big hearted individual the VD. I also don't know a living soul who doesn't feel the same way. You will not meet a more generous and always willing to help while never looking for anything in return type of person if you search for your entire life than Viejo Dinosaur...
Some other posters who I met but due to time constraints of a single post I can't comment to extensively on, they include: Presto, Sharky99, a real class act and well spoken gentlemen. Gskiman, Jakepeavy21, Shiz, Skidmrk, Brock, Big A Fan, BigTex, Mrs. Big Tex, Jdeuce, Konun8, Red007, Kiss1, JeffKSU, Geeze, VVV and his lovely wife, Arniesarmy, Xerri, Superpimp73 ((like his name a funny dude). Thanks to all of the above for making our Bash the great time for all it turned out to be again this year.
There were a pair of no call no shows that really were disappointing causing The Rx to pay for an empty room. All I will say is they were coming together from the state of Indiana and didn't even bother to email a sorry can't make it note. Go figure.
Rx Mods:
Sportsavant, was my right hand man during the entire planning stages of the event. He is a extremely capable and intelligent moderator and gambler also. I know he gave out a Canadian League Football game over the weekend that got the money (British Columbia over Toronto I believe) I hope all who knew about the play got something down on it...
SS is also immune to my juvenile sense of humor and the other side of that coin my everything has to be done right or I can't sleep paranoia. Seriously speaking I couldn't have put together such a "if I say so myself" successful Bash without Sportsavant's endless amount of help.
Bucsfan67, our veteran Rxer back home with us where he knows he belongs. Buc had a great time I believe and was always ready to jump in to help if needed. I know he really enjoyed our mod dinner which included the best steak he ever ate. Something he told me after the meal..Bucs' mom was very pleasant, I hope she enjoyed her introduction into the world of Rx Bashes.
Betallsports, someone who I mentioned in the other thread. A great guy and an excellent mod who really has taken to the Rx as a home in cyber space. I got the word from his lovely wife as to how much BAS enjoys working and conversing here on The Rx. I for one am glad to have him on board.
To the rest of the Rx mods who were unable for one reason or another to attend. My sincerest thanks for holding down the fort while the rest of us did our thing in Las Vegas. I know the forums didn't miss a beat while we were to busy to post.
My apologies to those of you who I met but left off this post. I just cannot remember everyone.
I also want to thank Rick Allec of SportsOptions for his fantastic support over the weekend.
Thanks to Charlie Maxwell our editor and my helper seating the crowd for the Reception Dinner..Go Tigers...
My warmest thanks go out to the most generous of bosses at our sponsors for contributing so much to the event for the benefit of you posters.
Special thanks go out to Richard at BetPhoenix.com who continues to give and give making this year's Bash extra special with so much in free wagering funds.
Scotty at BetJamaica and Keith at Skybook both of them have never said no to me if I asked for something to reward our posters with..
All three are among the class acts of the Offshore industry..
Finally to Rx CEO Marty Jensen without who none of this would have been possible. His generosity is never ending. I am extremely lucky to be working for Marty. My wife sends her love to you Marty, next year there will be no stopping her from attending Rx Bash 2010. Thanks also to Mrs Jensen and Mrs Allec, two extremely lovely and genteel ladies.
A quick shout out to Rx Accounting (you know who you are) for always being there whenever I need any assistance. The best of the best is right there in our home office...Thank you for all you do.
Plus thanks to Mark from Rx Tech Support. A real pleasure to meet you finally and a big thanks for getting our forum running so well despite some difficult times last year during the DDOS attacks.
I will leave the Poker Tournament post to Edgar to comment on as he was responsible for obtaining the lucrative $5,000 purse..
Sorry if I didn't mention you.
Thank you, wilheim...:toast:
